E-bike tour of Boston
See Boston from an electric bike ("e-bike") in a small group setting! I provide a quality e-bike, bike helmet, and bottle of water. All bikes have hand brakes and gears, so for safety, all riders MUST be comfortable using both. All riders should wear a helmet for safety. We'll adjust and test the bikes for 15-20 minutes, and then we will set out on our ride. Most of our ride is on paved cycle routes with no cars, some of it in the Emerald Necklace Park designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, and on the Esplanade along the Charles River. We will cycle along both sides of the river. We can stop for coffee and then ride back through Cambridge and Brookline to Jamaica Plain. There are a few places where we walk the bikes for 2-3 blocks, so guests need to be able to walk a bit. The tour lasts about 3 1/2 hours, depending on how many stops we make and how long we spend at the cafe. This tour will allow you to try an electric bike in a low-stress cycling environment. I hope to see you with the famous "e-bike grin" as you glide along! I can accommodate anyone 16 and over and taller than about 4'8". I can often accommodate different dates and times. New England weather is unpredictable so if the weather conditions are not safe for cycling, I will cancel the tour and you'll receive a full refund.

The Revolutionary Story Tour
An epic half day city tour weaving the main events, characters, and landmarks of the American Revolution into one complete and compelling narrative. Most tours walk the Freedom Trail geographically – starting at one end and following it to the other. This tour walks Boston chronologically - the sightseeing is synchronized with and unfolds to the storytelling, bringing the characters to life and recapturing the energy that invented America. We also don't limit ourselves to "just" the Freedom Trail but explore all the original neighborhoods including the Financial District, "Little Italy", and the Harborwalk. Awarded Boston Magazine's Best Historical Tour 2022. A coffee / restroom break and the opportunity to enter Faneuil Hall (if it's open to the public) is built in. There are no actors, costumes, scripts, or kitsch. The history is meticulously researched and includes insights from top scholars but presented with light-hearted humor and enthusiasm so neither beginners nor hardcore history buffs will be disappointed. We cover both the major sights and the hidden gems; extensive visual aids and props help you grasp the material; and you'll enjoy the charm of the original neighborhoods while getting a sense of the beautiful and booming modern city as well. The tour is orientated towards adults, but enthusiasm of all ages is welcome.

Ghosts -- Boston Beyond the Grave
The past, the present and the future -- everyone and everything is interconnected. Walk the very streets where Boston's most terrifying killer stalked his victims. Step through the grounds where witches and martyrs were hanged. Hear the stories of our most haunting history and awaken our ghosts -- the broken, the beloved and the betrayed -- their fights for justice and their quests for vengeance. Looking for a time that isn't listed? Send me a message and maybe we can work something out. Dig through the bones of the past, and the memories of our community. This is more than traditional history. These are the personal records of the rarest kind of human experience, Boston's adventures into the world of the unknown, that mysterious psychic world beyond the five senses.
Sail on the Schooner Fame of Salem
Haul up the sails! Take the tiller! Or just chill out with a local craft beer while our historic schooner slides through Salem Sound past lighthouses, forts, and waterfront homes. The captain and crew will explain the significance of the FAME, privateering, and the War of 1812. The firing of the cannon is always a highlight! We'll motor out from Pickering Wharf in downtown Salem and call for volunteers to help raise the sails. Depending on the wind, we may shape a course toward Beverly, Marblehead, or head straight out toward the islands! Our interactive crew point out landmarks, explain the operation of the schooner, and mix drinks with equal facility. The sails last roughly an hour and forty minutes. When we return to Pickering Wharf, you're right in the heart of downtown Salem — perfectly placed for a meal, a drink, or a stroll! Note: We will not sail if steady rain, high winds, or thick fog are expected; you will be refunded. Message us if you are unsure about the forecast. Dress for the weather — you are exposed to the elements on our 1812 schooner! This trip is NOT appropriate for infants or toddlers. But once kids are 4-5 years old, they really enjoy it! The schooner is certified for 49 passengers plus crew, but since 2021 we are sailing at 60% capacity, which means there will be a maximum of 29 guests on your sail.
Explore Salem with a Local
Let's explore my hometown together! Salem is a beautiful, historic city best known for its tragic 'Witch' Trials. Our walk and talk will provide an overview from our origin as Naumkeag to our European founding in 1626 to the Witch Hysteria of 1692 through the current day, with some sites from Hocus Pocus tossed in. I'm happy to adjust the tour route based on the interests of the attendees. The tour length is about 2 hours, depending on the interaction and the pace of the group. We'll cover about 2 miles. Please note Salem is an old city, and many sidewalks are uneven bricks. As a resident, I share a local perspective to help bring Salem alive for you and help with any tips that may make your visit more enjoyable. Our tour is historical, but I may sprinkle in a few legends and hauntings along the way. I am very flexible with my tour dates and times, so drop me a note if you don't see something that works for you. Please note that if you are considering taking multiple tours in Salem we will likely stop at the same historic places although we may share different stories and perspectives.

Mobsters, mayhem and murder in Boston
The tour will take you on a scenic route through the heart of Boston, and off the beaten path to areas most tourists do not venture. The tour is an approximately 2.5 hour walk with frequent stops to sit. Omar will tell you not only about general Boston history, but the darker side of Boston's history. This will in include stories about Whitey Bulger, the Boston Strangler, the Mafia and more! There is mature language on this tour, similar to an R-rated movie/TV-MA show. It is not recommended for children under 12. Parental discretion is advised. Other things to note Walking shoes, water, umbrella in case of rain. Be on time, tour starts promptly at the time indicated for the consideration of other guests. This tour will take you off the beaten path and leave you with memories, a knowledge of Boston crime history and at least one funny joke. As someone who grew up here, I can also provide suggestions of local restaurants or places to visit that are hidden gems.

Create a Mosaic in Boston Artist Studio
In this experience you’ll make your own mosaic at the SoWa Mosaics studio in the heart of Boston’s Art + Design district! SoWa Mosaics is a bright and welcoming space featuring mosaics made with homemade tiles of all shapes and sizes. Each student chooses a square board or picture frame as their base. We will spend a few minutes talking about mosaics and our unique process then you’ll get started glueing tiles and creating your own unique mosaic selecting from an abundance of our handmade colorful tiles. During the workshop we’ll be walking around to help guide and encourage your work. For smaller groups we like to sit down and create one with you too! At the end of the workshop, your mosaic will be glued and safe to take home but needs a day to get sturdy and dry completely before you can grout it. Each student goes home with a goodie bag containing grout, gloves and instructions on how to put the finishing touches on the artwork. After or before the workshop we encourage you to walk around and visit the 100+ other artists, galleries and shops here. Sundays are the most active with several other studios open and a vintage market in the basement. On Sundays in May thru October we have food trucks and outdoor markets too! Other things to note No art experience necessary. Intended for adults but appropriate for kids 10+. All ages welcome for birthday parties or private family activities. I can host 20ish people. Want a different day/time? Message me! I’m happy to adjust times and/or plan private events. Excited to create with you!

Boston's Underground Donut Tour
On this tour, you'll join me as we explore the city and food culture through the medium of donuts. You'll learn history of Boston, each donut location, how they fit into the larger food scene, as well as try some amazing donuts. We start in Boston's financial district at Kane's Donuts. After sampling some delicious donuts, we'll walk along the harbor on our way to Boston's Public Market, where we'll try some amazing apple cider and apple cider donuts. Fresh every day! After that, we'll sample some of the best artisanal donuts you'll have in the entire city at Union Square Donuts. For the last portion of our tour, we'll walk through Boston's North End or Little Italy learning about the history of the neighborhood along the way. Once there, we'll visit one of the North End's oldest bakeries, Bova's where we'll have a uniquely Boston treat. We hope you can join us! Other things to note Currently, many of these shops do not have gluten free or dairy free donuts available. We will try to accommodate allergies, but it has been difficult recently. We still welcome you to come on the tour though.
Time Travel through History
On this brisk walk, we will see how Boston transforms itself physically while casually changing the course of history. Winding through the streets, we encounter Puritans to re-discover what they made of this wilderness. From these roots, we see three stories unfold: the American Revolutionary War, the political ascent of the Kennedy family, and the transformation of Boston itself. Coming full circle, we end near the Boston Massacre at the Old State House, the cross-section of the city’s political and economic life today. Other things to note Walking shoes! Appropriate clothing! Love of adventure and learning!
Hidden Gems of Boston Common, Beacon Hill & Public Garden
Take a walk through Boston Common and Public Garden, listening to the lesser-known stories from Boston's history as told through the forgotten plaques and monuments hiding in plain sight. The tour focuses on stories not covered by the historical tours that follow the Freedom Trail, instead showing off the colorful characters and strange events that shine a light on Boston's eccentric past. The tour starts at the Boston Common Visitor Center and takes the visitors on a 1.5 hour long route through Boston Common, ending in the Public Garden. Learn about how Boston was first settled and grew into the city it is today. Tales of strict Puritan values mix with a long-standing history of rebellion and corruption to paint a picture of the duality that is the core of Boston's spirit. Learn about the series of unusual events surrounding the construction of the oldest subway in America. What were the "King's Pines" and why did the pine tree end up symbolizing the American revolution? Learn about the "first city hall" of Boston and the sermons, hangings, and acts of rebellion that surround it. Listen to the story of William Blackstone, Boston's and Rhode Island's first settler and his quest to get as far away as possible from everyone to read his books in peace. Many more unique and unknown stories await on the tour!

Walk Your Way Through Boston's History
We will start our tour at the Lenox hotel in the heart of the Back Bay neighborhood, and will end at historic Faneuil Hall where there are endless places to eat and explore after the tour. Not only will we visit the famous Boston Freedom Trail, but also hidden treasures not covered on other tours. My tour runs approximately 2 1/2 hours. Unlike some other walking tours, I try to cover as much of Boston as possible. The walk is not fast paced, but we do cover about two miles. Wear comfortable shoes. The Back Bay - Explore one of Boston's most famous neighborhoods. Home to some of Boston's most beautiful buildings such as the Boston Public Library and the Trinity Church. Boston Public Garden - Visit the beautiful gardens, and say hello to the Swan Boats, and the Make Way for Ducklings statues! If you come during the right time of year, they may even be donning some accessories! Boston Common - Bask in the freedom of the oldest public park in the United States. Cheers Bar - Where everybody knows your name. Beacon Hill - View Boston's most historic neighborhood. Complete with original brick sidewalks and gas lanterns (you can thank some friendly 20th-century neighborhood rioters for those bricks). The New State House - Is as impressive as the political debates inside...we think.
