Linger over breakfast in the dappled shade of a chestnut tree as butterflies flutter past. In the evening watch the sun set behind majestic rolling hills. Then climb a terracotta stairway to a romantic bedroom under a vaulted timber ceiling. Sunbathe in comfort or read in the shade - it's all catered for on the huge terrace. Indoors is a comfy sitting room with fast wifi (25Mbps), Bluetooth-connected stereo, a dining room for autumn evenings and an unusually well-equipped kitchen. The bathroom upstairs has a large bath tub and a rain-fall shower to give you the best of both worlds! You'll feel at home from the minute you arrive at this beautifully restored house. The owners (a quiet couple) live nearby and are always on hand should you need them, but they are entirely discreet and wouldn't dream of disturbing your privacy. Your sitting room is very comfortably furnished and you'll find a House Book brimming with local information as well as books, music and TV with Netflix/DVDs. From the sitting room, you step into the dining room and then into the splendidly well equipped kitchen. Upstairs there's a charming bedroom where you'll find two romantic angels smiling down on the king sized bed. The large bathroom (with a bath tub with rainfall shower) is fully tiled. For bookings of 7 or more nights, there's a free huge welcome pack: you'll find the fridge stocked with spumante & nibbles and a huge platter of cold meats and buffalo mozzarella for a meal beneath the stars, plus a generous continental breakfast for your first morning. There's coffee, tea, milk, biscuits & condiments as well as some supplies to get you started. Podere La Rota is the very essence of a spoiling holiday in romantic Tuscany! You will have the whole guest cottage at your disposal. At the front is a huge panoramic terrace with sun loungers, shaded seating area and dining table for memorable meals. A door from the terrace leads into the kitchen, another door leads into the sitting and dining rooms. Upstairs is the comfy bedroom with traditional Tuscan wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside units. The large bathroom is also on this floor. Guests are welcome to wander the 12 acres of Podere La Rota's organic olive grove. There are plenty of walks through the woods too for the active. We are usually available (during reasonable hours!) for answering questions and giving advice so feel free to make the best use of us! While you can manage with taxis from the train station, a car is highly recommended for getting around to make the most of your stay. The house is ideal for a couple, a family or for a group of 4 friends that want to explore Tuscany; you can stay in a design stone hay loft located in Valdarno: from this area you can easily reach Firenze, Arezzo, Siena, Cortona, San Gimignano and the Chianti; after a day spent in our amazing region, you can relax during summer in the private pool that overlook the Tuscan countryside! The house has 2 floors: at the ground floor there are the sitting room, the kitchen and a bathroom; kitchen has induction cooker, oven, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine; the sitting room has a big sofa, satellite television; from the huge glass door you can admire the garden and the pool; at the first floor there are the main bedroom with panoramic view, a bath with shower, a double bedroom with access to the back garden; the house in in stone, so the temperature is always good, also in the hot Tuscan summer, however there is an air conditioning system; during winter, you can also use the fireplace ad the heating. From the relaxing hammock and the stone made barbecue in a panoramic garden to the cozy fireplace, every space feels open and inviting. Immersed in total peace and tranquillity with a breathtaking view over the Chianti hills, halfway between Florence, Arezzo and Siena, the barn is a perfect homebase to visit Tuscany. The accommodation has 2 floors. The upper floor spaces 2 double bedrooms with wonderful views of the olive trees and a bathroom with window and large masonry shower. On the ground floor a cozy and spacious living area with fireplace and a kitchenette with gas stove a large fridge and oven. The barn has ceilings with exposed beams and bricks. Outside there is a panoramic garden set on its own where, in the shade of a walnut trees, you can relax on a hammock or grill your meal (included an authentic local Fiorentina steak :-) on the stone made barbecue. The closest towns are Cavriglia and the small Medioeval villages of Moncioni and Montegonzi. In each town you can find great local restaurants and a small grocery shop. Moncioni is 3 km far away. A big supermarket is located in Montevarchi and you can reach it in 8 minutes by car ( exactly 7 km far away). In Montevarchi you can also find one of the best farmer markets in Tuscany! The station of Montevarchi is 8 km away from the barn. From there you can take train to Florence and Arezzo. Siena can be reached in 30 minutes by car. The easy access to the motorway A1/E35 Milan-Florence-Rome (the Valdarno exit is only at 13 km) allows you to reach numerous interesting spots within a short time, both in Tuscany and Umbria, while few kilometres south of Cavriglia you enter the suggestive territory of the Crete Senesi. Out in the countryside, the home offers an authentic experience of Tuscany. Small towns and villages are a short drive away providing acces to exceptional local restaurants and fantastic farmers markets. A big supermarket is located in Montevarchi (7 km far away). The railway station is 8 km away from the barn. From there you can take train to Florence and Arezzo.
