Lorenzo and I will welcome you to our farmhouse, then you and I will go and visit a flour mill and a pastificio, where pasta is made, in a fantastic farm where ancient varieties of wheat are grown. Back to our house you'll have a tour of our property with Lorenzo who will tell you everything about real extra-virgin olive oil and wine making. Be prepared to ask him a lot of questions: he loves that! Then we'll cook a real Italian meal (first course, second course, vegetables and dessert) accompanied by our olive oil and wine and we'll have lunch together. I'll tell you everything about Tuscan cooking traditions and the history of this beautiful spot of countryside. After lunch we'll visit the oldest church of Pisa's province, which is one thousand years old. Instead of it, we can visit a dairy farm if you prefer.
There ends our experience, but if you like and have time, you can visit Volterra by yourself. I'll give you all the information you may need.

You need a car to reach our house (we'll go to visit the farm and the church by your car, just few minutes away). Most of our experience is indoor so it can be done in winter, too.

My husband Lorenzo and I used to live near Milan in the north of Italy. Tired of city life we decided to move to this wonderful spot of Tuscany in 2002. I used to teach English and French, but I studied art and history, too. Lorenzo, who studied farming and botany, wanted to have a piece of land of his own, where to grow his beloved trees and flowers. He is so fond of nature that he would never stop telling you about it.

We'll visit one of the first farms in Tuscany to grow organic wheat with which they make flour, pasta and fantastic bread. On the way you will have the chance to see the most typical Tuscan countryside with gorgeous views.
Our property is not so big, but it has everything: olive trees, vines, fruit trees, aromatic herbs, flowers. We are in the very heart of Tuscany. The church of our village is a hidden treasure: it's worth a visit.

If you are looking for something special, this is where you need to be. Annalisa is well versed in culture and history and one can learn much from her knowledge. Lorenzo is a passionate botanist who loves the land and has a magic touch for his wine. It was an absolute pleasure spending the day with Annalisa and Lorenzo. They are wonderful people and we look forwardto seeing them again in the future. I highly recommend 👌

We didn’t know what to expect from our experience. Everything about it was special. Our hosts AnnaLisa and Lorenzo welcomed us into their home, shared with us their knowledge, their passion for food and agriculture and their love of their surroundings. We shared stories, learned about the area, the art, the history, the plants. Our lunch was delicious, authentic and leisurely. We very much enjoyed the trip to the farm to see the wheat and the flour and the pasta and to see a 9th century church! I can think of no better way to learn about Tuscany than to spend a day with such lovely people!

Der Tag bei Annalisa und Lorenzo hat uns sehr gut gefallen! Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Wir bekamen einen Einblick in ein Leben in der Toskana und haben Orte besucht, die wir so nicht gesehen hätten. Das Essen und der Wein waren super lecker und das Fachwissen der beiden wahnsinnig groß. Wir empfehlen diese Entdeckung auf jeden Fall weiter und bedanken uns ganz herzlich für diesen schönen Tag :)

Lizzy and Lorenzo were really welcoming and we felt instantly integrated into their Life. We loved the especially the tour through their property and the explanation of all the plants. The trip to the mill and pasta factory gave a nice insight into the production and the possibility to buy organic products. The cooking and dinner was also really nice. We had a really relaxing day at lizzy‘s.

Vi fick en jättefin dag där vi lärde oss en mängd olika saker. Med Lizzy fick besöka ett modernt jordbruk med ekologisk odling av äldre vetesorter, fick se deras kvarn samt bageri och pastafabrik. Vi fick lära oss varför cypresser ofta står längs vägarna som går längs åstopparna. De visade pilgrimerna var det fanns en säker väg! Lorenzo visade oss sin trädgård och olivlund samt sina vinstockar. Vi fick lära oss en massa om olivträd - det finns olika sorter - och om året 1985 då vinterns tog nästan alla gamla olivträd. Vi fick lära oss om blommor, buskar och fruktträd. Efter detta matlagning! Pasta med tonfisk , lök och kapris och pasta som köpts i ”fabriken” vi besökt. Jättegott ! Sedan god kyckling och peperonata därefter chokladpudding a la deluxe! Efter det besök i en fantastiskt vacker normandisk kyrka i byn Fabbrica. Allt var intressant, lärorikt och gott, men den största behållningen var att möta Lizzy och Lorenzo, två fantastiskt sympatiska och generösa personer!

What a spectacular way to be introduced to rural life in the Tuscan countryside. We toured a local grain mill, dairy, and were given an in-depth tour of the owner's vineyard and olive grove. Lizzy's cooking was also excellent!
