This course focuses on how to make your life more fulfilled. You learn about Zen Buddhism philosophy and practice a 20-minute meditation with mindfulness. Enjoy the Zen garden and the Kano school screen paintings from the 18th century. You end your experience at this historical temple with a cup of matcha green tea and Japanese sweets.
Other things to note
Please come to the temple at least 5 min. before the session starts. If you are 15 min. late, you are not allowed to enter the meditation room. In this case, we make no refund.

I'm a Zen priest, who brings Zen into the 21st century. I teach Zen and mindfulness practices with cognitive and neuroscience. Shunkoin Temple is located in a massive Zen temple complex, Myoshinji Temple. Once you step in the temple complex, you feel like you are in Kyoto in the 16th century. You can learn Zen from this amazing atmosphere. Shunkoin Temple is located the north of the main building of Myoshinji. From the north gate of Myoshinji (Myoshinji kitamon), it takes 2 min on foot. From the south gate (Myoshinji minamimon), it takes about 5 min on foot.

Very good experience in a lovely setting. Takafumi focuses very much on tackling misconceptions rather than explaining the process of meditation or the religious aspect, which regardless, is a very interesting and useful experience

For basic information on meditation, he is great. I think prior to going it would be best to prepare questions on what you really want or hope to get from meditation. It was worth our time and I recommend it
