Old Florida awaits ~

I’ll guide us through an expansive and pristine floodplain along the historic Estero River.
Humans have thrived off this fertile land for over 4000 years. Beginning with the Calusa tribe, southwest Florida has since had its share of diverse and interesting inhabitants including, Spanish missionaries, wild pirates, Cuban fisherfolk, strange cults, business magnates, and more (I’m big on storytelling!)

Our hike to the coast uncovers a variety of beautiful native and migratory birds, productive nurseries for fish, shellfish, and amphibians, sweeping natural vistas, and dense mangrove forests. The trails are primitive and can include damp and muddy areas. This being said, the hike is approachable for beginners and engaging for all levels of expertise. Pesky biting insects can be encountered on the trail and so be sure to bring bug repellent. While hiking in Old Florida, be sure to wear a hat, long sleeve shirt and pants, and sturdy shoes.

It is my passion to explore the wonders of this state and to help spread awareness of conservation and Florida history. My goal is to give you an enjoyable, educational, and eye-opening experience that you’ll never forget! If you’re ready, let’s make it happen!!

We really enjoyed our time. Zachary was very informative. He knew A LOT of the history, the birds, predators, etc… Even my 14 year old enjoyed it. We would definitely recommend his tour. It was hot so make sure to wear a long sleeve shirt, sunblock and bring repellent. :)

We had a lovely experience and learned a few new things. Peace and tranquility as you hike through the mangroves. It is weather-oriented, making sure you have a hat, lots of water, and proper shoes. It's a worthwhile adventure.
