Into oza kuyenza

Hamid or myself will meet you outside of Café Argana at 8:30 am (in Jamaa el Fna square). From there we will be picked up by our driver and begin our journey to the High Atlas mountains. Our first stop will be a peaceful place where you'll be dressed in traditional Berber clothes and enjoy a camel ride. Next we'll drive to a women's argan oil cooperative where there will be a bread & oil tasting with Moroccan tea.

Next stop will be Imlil (altitude 1740 m), the picturesque and lively valley which will be the starting point of our hike. It is a nice place with a fast flowing river, walnut trees and very traditional Berber villages dotted throughout. From here we will start our walk with a leisurely stop at my charming home where you can take in the stunning view from my rooftop terrace while you enjoy a delicious Berber lunch prepared lovingly by our mother.

After lunch we'll continue our walk through the Berber villages and pass by a spectacular waterfall, after which we will find our car waiting to drive us back to Marrakech (arriving back in the city at approximately 5:30pm).

Saturday and Tuesday tours also include a visit to a local Berber farmer's market.
Other things to note
Accommodation accessability in Marrakech means I may require you to walk a short distance to meeting point Café Argana ( Jamaa El Fna square)

My friends and I had an amazing time on this tour. The locations were excellent but it was the host that really made the trip so memorable. I'm recommending this tour to all my friends.

All I can do is echo the other reviews. Ibri was an outstanding host who made this a fantastic experience from start to finish! The highlight was the trek up to his village, where we enjoyed a delicious tajine and Moroccan whisky whilst overlooking the views. If you are looking for an excursion out from Marrakech, then this is the perfect trip for you!

You can never have a second thought after the trip that you will come back in the near future. My passion is mountain trekking, meeting new people with genuine heart and very kind, breathtaking views of the mountains, cool and purified air, delicious foods, and everything is really pleasant and worthwhile. The value of the experience is more than what you pay. You can also buy fresh vegetables and fruits at the traditional markets and really cheap. So i planned another trip to Atlas to walk to the highest peak in the near future.

This tour was one of the highlights of my trip to Morocco. The views up the mountain and Elhoussain's house were amazing. Elhoussain's mother and sister made a fantastic tangine! Best tangine I had during my vacation in Morocco.

This trip was fantastic! The description doesn’t do it justice. Elhoussain was friendly and knowledgeable. After picking us up in Jamaa el Fna, we stopped at a women’s Argan oil co-op. Then we drove a bit more into the mountains and did a short camel ride. We then drove into Imlil valley and began our hike from the first village through the valley up to the top. On the way up was shady due to all the trees and it is the path that all villagers and tourists take to go from village to village. There was a beautiful waterfall on the way up that we stopped at. Once we got to the top, Elhoussain took us to his house in the reception area on the top floor. He has a beautiful view of the Atlas Mountains. The tagine and lentils and tea were wonderful and lovingly prepared to be vegan for my dietary restrictions. After eating and resting, we took the easier way down that is a gravel road so cars and trucks can come to the top. We met the car at the bottom and were taken safely home. Elhoussain was an amazing guide with years of experience doing tours and leading hikes. He is very adaptable and is fluent in Arabic, French and English and is learning Spanish too :) We highly recommend and would definitely book with him again! Next time we will do his 4-day trip in the Sahara, it sounds amazing.
