We start by meeting near the local cafe to get to know each other and have a look at where we will go on the run.
Setting off from there we will head out on our route. We'll go at a pace that you are comfortable with.
Along the way I will let you know about the local history of where we are, we can talk about the plant life and the wildlife that lives here.
I plan to make the experience easy going and to that end I welcome any questions you have be that "What mountain is that?" or "Where should I go for dinner tonight?"
This isn't a race or an elite training session, it is designed around you individually. We will stay together every step of the way and ensure that we get the most out of the time!
Some experience of running will be beneficial, being able to run 5km on roads would be ideal.
Other things to note
The terrain we will be running on is rough but not to worry as we will take the rougher areas slower to be safe. Don't hesitate to get in touch with any questions you may have!

I am a fully qualified mountain leader and have lived in North Wales for 7 years.
I have been trail and fell running for around 10 years and been exploring in the mountains for much longer than that. I compete locally in our very wide range of running races.
As a mountain leader and member of a local mountain rescue team I have a very detailed knowledge of the Snowdonia national park and its surrounding areas.

I'll take you on small "locals" running trails where we can explore the old disused quarries and the surrounding hillsides talking about what life was like for the quarrymen and their families, and the journey the area has taken to the mountaineers paradise of today. I can also plan runs across the snowdonia national park for an unique perspective of the famous mountains linking in local history and mythology as we go.

I was worried before I met Steve as, though I run on roads at home, I had never run on footpaths - certainly in the mountains and also I am not in the first flush of youth! However, Steve was so welcoming and encouraging and within the first five minutes I relaxed and enjoyed the superb views. Steve matched the pace to suit mine and always stopped when he sensed I needed a break bringing the quarries to life by tales of the old workmen's lives. Do this if you run and visit Snowdonia. You will not be disappointed!
