Join us for a half day guided cycling tour. Explore our local community, the fisheries and the unique history of the area.

This half day cycling tour combines a riding tour of our community with an informative look at our local fisheries. From lobster to cod, mussels to oysters, fishing techniques and gear are explained as we cycle along beaches and quaint fishing harbours. The tour will take breaks to check out the different types of lobster and crab traps and learn about how they work. Your guide will stop at a lobster wharf for an up close look at the local fleet. The tour then heads to the St Paul Island Lighthouse and Museum, where you will climb the stairs of the oldest cast iron lighthouse in Canada. The ride ends at our favourite oyster market, Hideaway Oyster Farm and Cafe where we sample the fresh local oysters.

This is a great ride to introduce you to the best of the Cabot Trail, the history and the stories behind all the great local seafood. Discounts for two or more participants.

Hi! My family and I live right here in the Cape Breton Highlands. For generations my family has kept the lighthouses and fished in the waters of this coast. I'm very passionate about this area, with it's great geological and natural histories. My father was known to be a great story teller and we love to share his legends and his truths. The whole family, three generations, work together to share the best of this area with you.
