Hovera, meaning eight in Cumbrian sheep counting, is a modern terraced property found in the popular village of Glenridding, on the south shores of Ullswater. On the ground floor there is an open kitchen/dining room with all the mod cons and comfort levels that you would expect. With a sun room and separate living room, with comfy seating around the large wood burner and views of St Sunday Crag and Fairfield, you will find it difficult to tear yourself out of these rooms. On the first floor is a large twin bedroom, which can be made into a super kingsize on request, also boasting great views. The bathroom is also on the floor with a bath and separate large shower. The second floor takes you to a double bedroom with a kingsize bed. If your ideal holiday involves walking or cycling then you are already on the path to one of the Lake District National Park’s most famous peaks, Helvellyn. Alternatively, you can enjoy the picturesque views directly from your front door. You only need to walk outside Hovera to be on a popular walking route, but as the property is also situated in Glenridding, you are also just a short drive from Keswick, Windermere and Ambleside if you fancy taking in the local shops, pubs and cafés. The Old Cop Shop is a lovely two-bedroom stone terraced cottage situated in Grisedale Bridge, a short stroll from Patterdale, Glenridding and Ullswater, Englands second largest Lake. Formally a Police House, the local riff-raff from the village were held here before been sent on to larger police stations or released once the Ale had worn off. Evidence of the police records can be seen on the walls of the cottage. Now the converted cottage offers lovely accommodation with bright and airy rooms and views of Ullswater Lake from the landing window and across the gardens to Place fell from the front. The Ullswater area of the Lakes is a popular location for self-catering holiday's as there is a wonderful choice of activities locally, as well as a choice of pubs, cafe's and eateries. if you fancy exploring further then the Ullswater Steamers are a great choice, linking you to Pooley Bridge and Howtown. For walkers, you are spoilt for choice with the Helvellyn Range, Place Fel, St Sunday Crag and Fairfield nearby. if you fancy a low-level walk the trail along the eastern side of Ullswater is a must! Well established as one of the best low-level walks in the National Park, the trail hugs the shoreline all the way to Pooley Bridge at the North end of Ullswater. If you fancy taking to the water yourself, you can hire boats and kayaks from both Glenridding and Pooley Bridge. There really is a great choice to keep the whole family excited! Set back from the main hall and nestling in its own private woodland garden is the former Dairy. The dairy offers accommodation for up to 2 (a couple). The layout is fairly unique with mezzanine type sleeping accommodation via a steep wooden ladder. There is a log burning stove in the living room. The Dairy has a fully equipped compact kitchen and a shower room on the ground floor.
