New hosts often ask, “How do I get paid?” Airbnb makes it easy to set up payouts, and there are just a few things you need to do to set up your payout preferences. Here’s how it works.

    Setting up payout preferences

As a host, you can choose many ways to get paid on Airbnb, including direct bank deposit and PayPal. You can add or edit your payout methods by going to Account > Payout Preferences. Want to put aside some of your earnings in a savings account or share payments with another person? Airbnb makes it easy to split your payout between multiple accounts.

    How much you’ll get paid

For each reservation, you’ll earn your nightly rate minus a host service fee, which is a percentage of your nightly rate that can vary slightly depending on factors like your choice of cancellation policy and number of listings. Keep in mind that your payout may also be impacted by any discounts or custom pricing you’ve offered guests, as well as value-added tax (VAT) in applicable regions.

    When you’ll get paid

Airbnb typically releases your payout about 24 hours after check-in. After that, the time it takes for funds to arrive in your account depends on your payout method—for example, most banks process direct deposits in 3–7 business days. If you’re hosting a long-term stay (28 nights or more), your payout for that stay will occur at the end of the month. You can check the status of your payouts at any time from your Transaction History.

“Every time a guest checks in, I get an email that more money has been put into my account,” says host Tim from Fairfax, California. “It's a good one!”
