Cozy log cabin nestled into a hillside with wonderful view of the lake (Cranberry Pond). Located in the Berkshire Mountains of southwestern Massachusetts the cabin comfortably sleeps 6 people in 2 queen beds and 2 twin beds. ( If you want to have 8 people in your party we also have a sleeper sofa with a queen bed foldout that is located in the living room). Our grand children love sleeping on it!
There is a full kitchen complete with all utensils, dishes, glasses, a microwave and coffee maker. There is a full bathroom on the first floor and a half bath located in the basement. We have added an enclosed "outside shower" with hot and cold water with enough room for changing if you wish. (It is great for rinsing off after a day at the beach or for a "starlit evening shower").

The cabin features a lovely covered deck equipped with Adirondack chairs, a gas grill and a dining table all of which overlook Cranberry Pond. Great for enjoying outside dining with beautiful sunsets. The cabin also has free WIFI and free Netflex access.
The cabin is a one minute walk from the beach area. The beach has a men's and a women's restroom facility on site and is bordered by the boat and kayak storage areas. The cabin rental includes unlimited use of a row boat, a kayak and a Sunfish sailboat (specific information will be provided for the use of each watercraft). "Please note"...The Wildwood Association does not allow any outside boats to be brought in to the complex for use in the two lakes. The Association works very hard in keeping the lakes weed free and by limiting the boats brought in they have kept the lakes in fantastic shape. Cranberry Pond is great for fishing (Bass, crappies, bluegills, sunfish, pickerel, and bullheads are plentiful).

There is a second pond called Otter pond that is located about a ten minute walk from the cabin. This pond is stocked every year with trout and has a small intimate beach and also has a men's and women's bath house. A good place for the kids to go looking for frogs and salamanders.

Ukungena kondwendwe
The Wildwood complex is a secure community and has outdoor tennis courts, a shuffle board area, a swing set area and 2 basketball hoops all located near the community clubhouse. The clubhouse is located across the lake and is about a 15-20 minute walk from the cabin (5 minute drive). There is free WiFi access for guests in the cabin and at the clubhouse.
There are hiking trails throughout the Wildwood complex and the Berkshires and information and maps are provided at the cabin.

One of the nice things about having a cabin in the Wildwood complex is that it is a very secure area. They have security personnel that are constantly driving about the complex and it is a very quiet, peaceful place where relaxing is easy!!!

Wildwood (WW) is a community of private homes, most of which have membership privileges in the Wildwood Property Owners’ Association (WPOA). The WPOA owns and maintains common property- namely, the ponds, roads, woodlands, and amenities, including but not limited to the beaches, tennis courts, Clubhouse, and campground.
In order to preserve the environment of our community, all property owners and their guests and renters, when using common property, should follow the Rules and policies of the WPOA, and the following guidelines:

Large groups: Groups of more than 10 people may not use any WW amenity, including those listed above, without first getting permission from the WPOA Operations Manager, or designee.
1. Community Quiet times:
Bright lights and loud activities should not occur between 10pm- 7am from Sunday night through Friday morning, and 11pm- 9am from Friday night through Sunday morning.
2. Roads and Parking:
The maximum speed limit on all roads in WW is 15 mph.
Parking is available in designated lots, and NOT allowed along roadsides except with special permission of the Operations Manager. All parked vehicles should have a WW sticker or valid Guest Pass visible in the windshield.
3. Smoking:
No smoking is allowed on any WPOA common property, including but not limited to the clubhouse, woodlands and beaches.
4. Dogs:
Dogs on the roads and WPOA common property must be leashed and under control. No dogs are allowed in the clubhouse or on the beaches.
5. Bonfires/Campfires:
Beach fires are strictly prohibited unless permission is granted from the WPOA Operations Manager.
Outside fires should not be set on private property without first checking that there is no Red Flag Warning in effect in the area.
6. Use of the Ponds:
* No one may bring in or launch outside boats, inflatable boats or paddle boards.

* Only watercraft with up-to-date WW stickers may be launched on our ponds.
* Watercraft may never be moved from Otter Pond to Cranberry Pond, or from Cranberry Pond to Otter Pond unless such watercraft are first washed by WPOA staff.

* Boats and property left at the beaches are privately owned, and are not for use by guests or renters without the permission of the owners.

* Boating, sailing and fishing are strictly prohibited in the designated swimming areas of all beaches.

* Unattended boats must be secured at the shore, not in deep water.
* Fishers are asked to return all fish alive back to the ponds with the exception of pickerel. Daily limit of 2 trout per fisher may be kept for food. Commercial bait should be first placed into a bucket of Wildwood pond water before being used, and all water /plant material from the original bait bucket should be disposed of in an area AWAY from the pond waters.
7. Hunting and Firearms:
Firearms, air rifles, BB guns, traps, bow and arrows and slingshots are not permitted on WPOA private or common property.
8. Clubhouse:
Use of the kitchen and overnight sleeping is not permitted in the clubhouse, except with the approval of the Operations Manager or designee in emergency situations.
9. Campground:
The campground may only be used with prior permission granted by the Operations Manager.
10. Flags and banners:

I have been retired from teaching for sixteen years and now pursue many activities. My wife and I have raised two sons who, after completing under graduate and graduate degrees are now working in rewarding careers. We have two lovely granddaughters and three wonderful grandsons. We have enjoyed many activities through the years and have done a lot of traveling. (We have been to England, France, Portugal, Spain, Morocco, Egypt, Turkey, Greece, Italy, China, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Bali, Thailand, Cambodia, Mexico, Belize and to many states here in the U.S. including Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Washington D.C., Delaware, New Jersey, New York, all of New England, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, and Illinois. Also Turks and Caicos, Aruba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, Canada. My wife is an established abstract artist and has her studio at our home here in Clinton, CT. I have been working on a career in stone sculpture over the past nine years and have to admit that I am hooked. We want you to enjoy our cabin and the lake and ponds on the site. It is a great place to relax and unwind and we have tried to make the cabin a comfortable, leisure place. The cabin was built by my mom and dad in the early 1970's. We have been using it as a retreat ever since and want to share it with others.

Ngexesha lokuhlala kwakho

Most of our interaction with our guests is done through AIRBNB and phone calls when needed. We leave phone numbers and emails at the cabin where we can be reached 24/7 if there are any questions or concerns during your stay.
