This delightful cabin is situated on 40 acres, which has the middle fork of the National Wild and Scenic Feather River running through the property. Views of the Feather River can be seen from the back deck and master bedroom, along with many wonderful places to view the mountain peaks, river and the local wildlife. Enjoy the private intermediate trail and access to the river. The cabin was built in the 1920's and has a peaceful nostalgic ambiance; truly a taste of a bygone era!

Indawo
This is a historic cabin, which was part of the Penman Peak Lumber Mill established in the 1920's. The cabin offers old fashioned ambiance with details of it's 1920's vintage. The kitchen includes an operating wood cooking range as well!

Located off of scenic Highway 70, the property is surrounded by U.S. Forest Service land and to add a nostalgic reminder of our industrial age in transition, the Western Pacific railway snakes along the river the length of the property.

There are common areas for guests to enjoy, including sitting areas along the river trail with Adirondack chairs, hammocks and fire pits. The accommodations offer a breath of fresh air in this busy world.

Take a step back; this is the perfect place to unplug, unwind and commune with nature. Read, write, relax, rejuvenate. No WiFi, television, or clocks. Let nature have its way with you each day. Personal smart phone mobile hotspots can provide opportunity to communicate electronically if needed.

We are 1 hour west from Reno (& the Reno National Airport), 50 miles North of Truckee, and about 2.5 hours from Sacramento.

We have named this cabin "Mt. Washington" after one of the local peaks, and is one of a cluster of six cabins that were part of the old Penman Peak Lumber Company, a small working lumber mill until the mid 1940’s. We offer 4 of our cabins as vacation rentals. These cabins are not your typical Graeagle golf course rental. All the cabins boast pure mountain well water, so no need to bring bottled water!
The cabins and property are available for vacation getaways, small weddings, and are perfect for family reunions, and a unique workshop/retreat location as part of our Lost Sierra Retreat Center.*

*Retreat/Workshops/Ceremonies: We have a 30' yurt, two 16' yurts, ceremony sites, and common areas available for workshops, retreats and ceremonies. Folding chairs and tables are available for a fee. There are also additional cabins available adjacent to Mt. Washington cabin, Cabin No. 5 - "Mt. Elwell," which can sleep up to 8 guests, Cabin No. 3 – “Eureka Peak,” which sleeps 7 guests, and Cabin No. 6 - "Little Feather," which sleeps 2 guests (with a fold-out futon couch for 2 more if necessary). Contact us for more information.

Graeagle, California, United States

The cabin, which we have named "Mt. Washington" after one of the local peaks, is one of a cluster of six cabins that were part of the Penman Peak Lumber Company established in 1925. Located 3 miles outside of Graeagle, along scenic Highway 70, the property is surrounded by U. S. Forest Service land and to add a nostalgic reminder of our industrial age in transition, the Western Pacific railway snakes along the river the length of the property. The cabins have a lot of nostalgic ambiance that is fun to experience. There are 6 cabins total, 4 of which we offer as vacation rentals. There are common areas for our guests to enjoy including sitting areas at the river, on the bluff above the river (located in front of the cabin), and a new gathering area with fire pit. These cabins are not your typical Graeagle golf course rental. The cabin boasts pure mountain well water, so no need to bring bottled water!

This is a wonderful place to unplug, unwind and relax. The cabins and property are available for vacation getaways, and are perfect for family reunions, a unique workshop/retreat location, and we also host small destination weddings.*

*Retreat/Workshops/Ceremonies: We have a 30' yurt, two 16' yurts, a ceremony site, and common areas available for workshops, retreats and ceremonies. Folding chairs and tables are available. There are also additional cabins available adjacent to Mt. Washington, Cabin No. 5 - "Mt. The Silver Family lived in the Tahoe Truckee area for 26 years. In 2012 we acquired 40 acres in Plumas County, located near Graeagle, California on the National Wild and Scenic Feather River. The Graeagle area was our first home as a young married couple in 1979. We moved back full time in August of 2013. It's great to be back! Rich is a retired CA state park ranger, with one of our first assignments as newlyweds being Plumas-Eureka State Park in Johnsville, which is how we discovered this beautiful area. I worked as a paralegal in the Truckee area for 23 years. We have raised our family of four sons in the outdoors, and we continue to make nature and beautiful landscapes a priority in our lives. We have reserved four of the several 1930 vintage cabins, which were once part of the Penman Peak Lumber Company, as vacation rentals and a unique space for workshops, gatherings, etc. It is a beautiful spot, and we look forward to sharing it with you!
