Our little blue house is close to the city centre - it's 8 minutes walk from Brighton station - so if you're visiting the coast for culture, a party or on business, it's a great location for exploring them all. Your quiet first-floor single room has a comfy bed, chest of drawers, desk, large flatscreen TV, wifi and kettle. It's next to the shared bathroom and you can use the patio. A self-serve breakfast of cereal or toast is included.

Our guest bedroom is light and quiet and because the bed has sofa-style wooden back and arms with a mattress, you can use it as place to relax during the day too. There is a kettle so you can make tea and coffee in your room without having to go downstairs to the kitchen, a good wi-fi connection, a large desk and a chest of drawers for you to use, plus a hairdryer. But what makes the place unique - along with the very convenient location - is the charm of our whole house. It was built in 1830 and has many period features. It has pretty windows and lots of flowers both inside and out. This is offset by our cottage-style kitchen which we are currently only letting longer-term double vaccinated guests use for safety reasons. There is also a table out in the south-facing patio. As our guest you may use them all.

Our home is in Seven Dials, which is a residential area popular with commuters and families because it is a few minutes’ walk from Brighton mainline station and the city centre. The little terrace where we live is very quiet as its tucked away like a secret street - on our side there are houses, on the other trees, but we are less than 100 metres from a quirky array of local shops and cafes - a newsagent, chemist, supermarket, flower shop and several pubs and restaurants are all about one minute away. We are half a mile from the beach and sea.

This is me (Sarah) with my husband (Tom). I am an author and Tom is a chef. We have been using Air B&B for five years as guests and are regular home swappers too. We really enjoy meeting people.

I work from home so should be around to answer any questions about the house and surrounding areas should you be a guest here, and having lived in Brighton for 18 years know my way about the city. I can suggest places to eat and sights to see, but more than that: I know where to get your nails done, your hair cut, which bookshops to visit, who does the best takeaway coffee - and a whole heap more besides. And whilst our home is not enormous, visitors seem to like it - Tom and I love living here. The country-cottage style kitchen has a large table for dining, and there's also a table out in the south-facing patio which you are welcome to use on warmer days. Any other questions, please ask.

And whilst our home is not enormous and is certainly not a hotel, Tom and I love living in Brighton and hope our guests feel comfortable, relaxed and safe in our home.
