This is a charming house, built in 1581, and sympathetically renovated.

The house is situated in the heart of Neuenhain-Bad Soden.

20 min by car from Frankfurt Airport and Frankfurt;

5 min by bus to the Bad Soden train station; (FULL transport info in the ‘Getting Around’ section!)

Please note the ceilings will feel low if you are over 1.85m tall :-)

we prefer bookings from people who will personally stay in the house, ie the Airbnb account holder.

Please contact us first if you want to make a booking for someone else, for example if you are a company looking for somewhere for employees to stay.

Please also take careful note of where the house is located. The house is in Neuenhain- not in the town of Bad Soden that is 5 minutes drive away!! This is clearly written in the description. We are not in Frankfurt either 😊

Please also note that the check in time is 3pm. If you have a flight arriving early in the morning you need to either wait until 3pm or book the house from the night before.

Finally- please do not contact us if you are looking to hold a party or event in the house. The house is not suitable at all for parties!

House Description:

This is a lovely, very homely and cosy house.

On the ground floor we have a kitchen and a cosy living room with a comfortable settee, armchair and dining area with four dining chairs.

We have a high chair as needed for babies.

The kitchen is very well equipped if you want to cook during your stay and there is a small fridge/freezer, two ring electric hob and microwave.

Also a toaster, kettle and Tasimo coffee machine. We always leave coffee, tea, sugar for our guests.

There are also condiments such as salt and pepper….and a few food items in the cupboard!

Tea towels, kitchen paper towels, dish cloths and washing up liquid are available for you to use.

We have two bedrooms:

On the first floor is a double bedroom with a double bed, space to hang clothes and lovely views over the village. We have a fan in here for when the weather is hotter.

The Attic room has two single beds and wardrobes (please note that the attic has sloped ceilings but it is very easy to stand up right and there’s plenty of space to move around; it’s very peaceful and cosy up there). We have an air conditioning unit in the attic room for the hot weather.

There are also lots of toys and books in the cupboard in the attic room to keep the children entertained!

The bathroom (on the first floor)has a great, spacious, shower. We always leave shower gel, toothpaste and shampoo and toilet paper, for our guests too.

In the cellar you will find a modern washing machine and dryer that you are welcome to use during your stay.

You can access the outdoor sitting area from the cellar or the front door.

The outdoor area is a small but pleasant yard at the front of the property which is a lovely sun trap. We have two chairs and a small table that you are welcome to use and watch the village life pass by!

Bad Soden am Taunus, Hessen, Germany

The house is located in a beautiful traditional village called Neuenhain within very easy reach of Frankfurt.

The house was built in 1581 and was one of the first houses to be built in the village.

It was originally built for a shepherd to live in and would have been surrounded by rolling fields.

The house stood at the gateway to the village and is very well known by the locals.

We feel proud to be the owners of such a historic property.

Don’t be surprised if you have local people asking you if you are the knew owners!

Everyone is very friendly and welcoming here.

This is an excellent location to stay in if you are going to or exhibiting at the Messe.

The Messe is only 40 minutes from door to door by bus and train or 20 minutes by car-It is a very easy journey.

The house has lots of amenities within a 1 minute walk including:
Taxi rank
a butchers
2 bakeries
Gift shop ‘Flirt’
tea shop
Ice cream cafe
Travel agent
Stationary shop
(Please note that it is normal for shops in small villages to close at lunch time, Wednesday afternoons, Saturday afternoon and Sundays! Bakeries stay open though and are open early Sunday morning)

There are also a number of larger supermarkets such as REWE, Lidl and Aldi within a short drive.
(Open from early to late every day except Sunday)

There are many fabulous locally run restaurants to choose from. Within a couple of minutes walk you will find:
2 Italian
a Chinese
Eastern European
German (our favourite is Zur Gute Queller a lovely, local food, family run restaurant).
German bar/with bar food/drinks

Please just ask us and we will be happy to give any restaurant recommendations and directions too, we can easily make reservations for you too- please just ask.

You can also easily walk down to Bad Soden in 15 minutes and there you will find even more shops, restaurants, cafes, and beautiful parks to visit. This is also where the train leaves from that will take you directly to the Messe and Frankfurt.

If you like wine then there is a wonderful wine festival every May in Bad Soden (search Bad Soden Weinfest for dates)....that is well worth a visit!

There are historic villages nearby such as:
Koenigstein with a wonderful castle to visit.
Kronberg with old cobbled streets to walk along.
Hochst- Castle and small old town
Hofheim- Thermal Bad and old town to visit

During the summer months there are many outdoor pools, such as the one in Bad Soden to visit and spend the day relaxing.

There are many places to take kids including:

Konigstein ‘Opel Zoo’
trampoline parks (eg Superfly in Wiesbaden)
Frankfurt Zoo
Halli Galli indoor play area
2 play parks within short walks from the house
In the summer- beautiful outdoor swimming pools with great children’s play areas
Kelkheim climbing park (Kletterhalle)
Natural History Museum in Frankfurt (and many more museums)
Bus sight seeing tour in Frankfurt
Koenigstein Castle
Koenigstein swimming pool
Rheinmain Thermal Bad
Felsenmeer- climb over huge boulders (one of our favourite places to take our kids to)
And much more....please just ask!

If you enjoy running or walking then this area is perfect for you. You will reach woodland within a few minutes from the house.

The surrounding scenery is stunning.

If you are interested in walking or hiking in the beautiful Taunus region, a good site to look at for information is:
https:// taunus.info/ service-und-infos/taunus-informationszentrum/

There are a couple of guide books in the house for you to help you out with ideas for places to visit.

If you need any help with places to visit, or anything else you only need to ask!
