Urraca is the only adults-only hotel on a private island in Bocas del Toro. Our self-sufficient mangrove island is also home to the Monkey Island Foundation. This 2 floor hut has 4 beds & sleeps up to 6 people; it includes a private deck, private bathroom w/ hot water, and a lounging area. Activities, tours, and spa services available. We offer a plant-based menu upon request.

Our spacious bungalow for groups can sleep up to 6 people in 2 queen beds and 2 individual beds. The sleeping room is located upstairs, and features large glass panel windows that provide a nice breeze throughout the day and night. In the first floor this room has a swing over the ocean, a deck, a traditional "cayuco" bar, and a private bathroom with hot water. Every day the sun rises in front of this room.

Set out at sea Urraca Private Island is located in the calmest, most pristine area of the Bocas del Toro archipelago, on the northern Caribbean coast of Panama. Only 30 minutes away by boat from Isla Colon you will find this secluded paradise.

An adults-only eco lodge on a mangrove island with no actual land, where every structure is built on stilts over the water, connected by docks. Suspended over turquoise crystal clear waters, you will be able to spot amazing wildlife everywhere you turn. Our close proximity to mangrove forests, seagrass meadows, and coral reefs will allow you to easily explore different ecosystems.

Enjoy breathtaking views of the famous Zapatilla Cays, two idyllic islands located right in front of Urraca, and just minutes away by boat. Between Zapatilla Cays and our island there’s a barrier reef that provides us with calm waters, similar to a lagoon, but in the middle of the sea; this translates into mirror-like ocean reflections of beautiful sunrises and sunsets year round. At night the island is surrounded by bioluminescent waters under star-filled skies.

Of passionate, positive and determinate, Francine has a course off the beaten track.

At the age of 49, she reviews her life. Too much stress, work, as many, her has madman's rhythm in urban zones, As many, she dreams about one somewhere else of a sailboat in the Caribbean...but as few, she gives her the means to realize its dream. She listens to her intuition " finding herself she even but also surpassing herself "

She learn to go beyond her limits and beyond her fears with the same determination to say himself " I am able "

She begins by navigating 6 months a year, only, then wishes to make share the passion of the sail, of the sea and the Caribbean by making of the charter … From 2000 till 2005, it is one of the first women captain of sailboat alone. She discovers the Caribbean islands up and down, from east to west.

From an adventure to the other one, as many, Dream Francine to learn Spanish, but as little, she gives the means to go to study several months in Honduras and in Ecuador …
