Our cozy 2 bedroom cottage is located on the main road in the sleepy town of Burnside, previously named Squid Tickle. As we are following AirBnb cleanliness protocols, we will be accepting bookings with maximum flexibility for stays ranging from 3 days to several weeks. We will also have a 48-hour period between bookings to ensure cleanliness and evaporation of cleaning particles in the air. We want our guests to feel safe and secure while being able to enjoy all this region has to offer.

Squid Tickle Landing is a great option for quiet get-aways on the Eastport Penninsula.

For the “musical at heart”...we offer a well-tuned piano. We also provide 2 adult bikes & a tandem bicycle to explore the region. We provide homemade marmalade and fresh local eggs to help get your day off to a great start.

Our little cottage is located on the Eastport Peninsula in the community of Burnside. We are a 3 hour drive west of St John’s, and a 60 minute drive east of Gander. We have stunning views of the sea and “Bloody Bay”. Located on the doorstep of the national park, Terra Nova National Park just 15 mins away, you have access to their outstanding network of coastal hiking trails.

In Eastport, just 8 minutes drive, you will get to easily accessible white sandy beaches. Sandy Cove, just 12 km from our cottage, has a popular beach and is also the start (or end) of the 14 km Salvage Coastal Trail. This newly completed hiking trail is both rugged and stunning. Be prepared for breath-taking scenery and the possibility of spotting whales and dolphins on your 6 hour hike.

The oldest community on the peninsula, only 15 km from Burnside is the picturesque community of Salvage. This tiny outport has captivated many artist’s, with its beautiful views all around the cove and the classic Newfoundland fishing stages dotting the shore. There is a local Fishermen’s Museum, a historic community cemetery, a newly renovated pub with a great ocean-side deck and a network of short trails to help you explore the area a little more.

Our cottage is also at the gateway to St Brendan’s Island. A 1hour 30 min ferry ride in the morning will get you a day trip to the island. Bring a picnic lunch and/or bikes for a relaxing outing in the Summer or Fall. Catch the late afternoon ferry for your return and be back 'home' in time for dinner.
