Looking for some quiet and solitude our cabin is located in the country sitting on 20 acres of wooded land with walking trails, wildlife, and solitude. But we are still just a short drive to nearby communities for numerous activities to enjoy.
Enjoy summer, we have kayaks and a canoe for rent enjoy an evening on a nearby lake watching the sunset and listening to the loons or enjoy some fishing from the kayak. In the winter enjoy snowmobiling, snowshoeing, x-country skiing, or ice fishing.

Our home is on the property and we are happy to answer any questions you may have, or leave you to your privacy if that is your desire.

We are 17 miles from closest town there is a small community about 7 miles away that you can get some groceries, alcohol and gas but you will probably want to stop on way here to purchase majority of the items you plan on bringing to cabin.

There is some Wi-Fi signal but it is weak especially on phones - laptops seem to work better. Cell phones work around cabin due to a booster that we have.

We are not on a lake but we do have lakes and fishing close by and are only 20 minutes from the Straight River.

Kayak Canoe rental terms & prices for our Guests
Kayaks and/or canoe will be delivered to Bear Lake for your use you must provide your own transportation to lake. Life jackets must be worn at all times while on water, Paddles & Life Jackets are included in rental of kayak or canoe.

Winter Carp on the Fly
Looking to get out and try some fly fishing during the winter months? Join us as we chase carp and other rough fish on the fly. We will be fishing from shore, fly rods and flies are provided or you can bring your own if you like. You will need clothing suitable for cold weather and a Minnesota fishing license. We run this trip from November 1 to March 31 only.

Cost for 1-2 anglers: $125.00
Additional anglers: $25.00 each

Ice Fishing Trips
We can’t make it through the winter without fishing, so why not join us for a great winter experience? Try your luck on our local lake. We will be targeting sunfish and crappie with an occasional northern pike and largemouth bass. These trips are great for people who don’t even know what ice-fishing is, or for an experienced ice-fisherman who is visiting and doesn’t have any of their gear. There are no age limitations and no required level of expertise. Anyone is welcome!

Charter Fishing for Rainbow Trout
We offer half and Full Day Trips, which can be fit into your schedule, although we hope to be out during the best fishing times. Fish our scenic stream trout lakes in West Central Minnesota for an enjoyable and educational day on the water.
These lakes are deep, clear, and cold and have been stocked with rainbow trout for a number of years and we fish for them with a number of different techniques depending on the season and conditions. All equipment provided along with lunch and water.

Half Day Trips: 4-5 hours of Fishing
One Person: $240.00 dollars
Two People: $275.00 dollars
Three People: $310.00 dollars

Full Day Trips: 8 – 10 hours of fishing
One Person: $300.00 dollars
Two People: $350.00 dollars

Fly Fishing Guide Trips

Fly Fish MN! We love chasing all fish, in all waters with a fly rod!

We fish a number of rivers depending on the conditions. Our home river is the Ottertail River in SW Ottertail County we fish primarily for smallmouth bass but it is also home to numerous other fish species as well. We also have numerous lakes in our area that provide fly fishing opportunities for many different species of fish.

We are running a Lund 1800 Alaskan, Clackacraft Eddy drift boat and a Big Shoals raft from Smith Fly all these craft provide a comfortable safe fishing platform for our clients. We can customize a trip for you fishing multiple rivers/lakes to optimize your fly fishing adventure!

Front 20 Outfitters will provide equipment and instruction for anyone interested in experiencing fly-fishing. Trips include basic instruction in casting, rigging, and presentation. All trips include lunch and water.

Half Day Trips: 4-5 hours of Fishing

We love the outdoors and especially the solitude of our country setting, we especially love fly fishing for anything that swims and have fished several different states across the Midwest and west for a variety of species, we mostly chase small mouth in the summer from our location, but go after many different species throughout the year as well. We have a small 181 acre lake within 5 miles of our cabin which is great for a quiet evening of paddling and fishing. We love sharing our passion for fly fishing and teaching others how to do it. Roxanne loves fly fishing for any kind of fish and enjoys teaching others especially other ladies that would like to learn how to fly fish.
