The cottage is small but 'perfectly formed '. It has been totally restored and insulated, warm and cosy, furnished for comfort with a mixture of antiques and family furniture. It is completely self contained and self catering.
The kitchen is fitted with new oven, fridge, range hood appliances and other mod cons.
The cottage has two bedrooms (quality linen & towels) with a shared bathroom between.
A wood burner ensures the cottage is toasty warm all winter.
French doors lead to the side veranda, garden and lawns for alfresco meals.
An antique outdoor hot bath is provided just for cottage guests, no charge.
A spa pool is available, it must be requested at time of booking, $50 per stay charge applies.
A portable BBQ is available on request, please request if wanting to use it as the gas bottle is locked away.

We are a professional couple, a landscape architect and an earthquake engineer, we run a joint practice from our home office. Our projects are architecture and landscape related particularly focused on the conservation and restoration of houses and gardens. Our house and garden showcases our work.
Leisure activities include, art ( painting/drawing/installation artworks/ photography), golf, bike riding, walking and travel.
Whilst we adore and have explored New Zealand end to end, we are fortunate to have been able to travel worldwide for work and pleasure following our interests in engineering, architecture, geology, archaeology, ancient history, education and the environment.

We enjoy good food and believe in the adage 'you are what you eat', so we 'cook from scratch' using our own organically homegrown produce where possible. We also keep hens and manage our 1 acre garden on bio-dynamic principles. We believe in DIY and walking the talk.

We have 3 adult children, 9 grandchildren and a small menagerie.

Our property is very special, we love to share it with others.

We are a semi retired couple, a landscape architect/conservation architect and earthquake engineer. We have traveled widely and enjoy hosting our guests.
Our property is a small working farm, hens, bees, sheep, orchards, vegetable gardens and extensive flower gardens.
We have pets, a cat named Bracken and hens, Faith ,Hope, Charity and Camilla.
We have sheep, Black Faced Sussex and Perrindales, they are not tame.
We have beehives in the lower paddock.
Guests dogs are welcome but must be pre-approved and kept on a lead at all times. Dogs require their own water/food bowl, bedding and sleep on the veranda.
Dogs are not allowed inside the cottage.
