Sometimes referred to as the 10th arrondissement of Lyon, Oullins is a charming little town on the other side of the Rhône river, only one metro station from Lyon (line B).

All the shops are less than 5 minutes walk from the house: french cheesemonger, fishmonger, butcher (some close in August), many traditional bakeries and pastry shops, restaurants, 2 organic mini-markets, pharmacies, supermarkets etc. Market with local producers twice a week. The church square and the town hall are 100m away, a village atmosphere in the middle of the city. Large shopping centres and malls in La Part-Dieu and Confluence 10 minutes away.

Many parks and playgrounds, tennis and petanque courts nearby. Activities less than 3km away: Confluence museum, Lyon Aquarium, Laser game, tree climbing adventure park.
