Hide away in a no-traffic, tranquil, centrally located Tucson home, hike and bike for dozens of miles along the Rillito River path; explore world-class Desert Museum, Sabino Canyon's easy to arduous hikes + an electric shuttle for the sedate. See the Milky Way from Mt Lemmon (9,000+ feet up), take in the Gem Show, visit museums and the University of Arizona, enjoy the glorious green desert with cerulean blue skies and abundant sunshine - makes your corpuscles dance and your bone marrow sing.

Indawo
Guests praise the sleep they get on the comfy queen bed in this quiet, spacious master suite with newly remodeled bath. Longer term guests may use a dedicated desk in the separate, shared study by arrangement with host.

You have a private patio out the sliding glass door to your room, which opens to the garden and gate by the carport. Flowers abound in garden; newly remodeled kitchen/dining area, main patio, and living room for sharing with host.

Wake up to the sun striking gold on the mountaintops and birds singing; watch the hummingbirds and butterflies visiting the garden; take a walk on the bike path and end up at one of 3 nearby Starbucks locations - or take it easy: wake up slowly to a cup of freshly ground coffee in the kitchen; enjoy your day, then watch sunset scream across the sky in orange and purple and fuchsia on your own patio. NOTE: guests may inquire about longer stays and entire 3-bed, 2-bath home by contacting host. Longer term guests may use a dedicated desk in the separate, shared study by arrangement with host.

Apho uza kuba khona

Tucson, Arizona, United States

Walk or bike or 1/2 mile drive to supermarket and good (non-Starbucks) cafe; excellent Indian restaurant and very good French bistro nearby. For Starbucks addicts, many nearby, and two walkable choices. Take breakfast at delightful First Watch ("million-dollar bacon" is an addictive experience).

Semi-retired career law professor, former grad student in Classics, teacher of literature, civil rights lawyer, and mediator who has lived in Africa, China and Tajikistan, visited or hitch-hiked through over 22 countries; loves hosting couchsurfers from overseas (especially in my former Santa Monica home), adores Dostoevsky and Shakespeare, the night sky, classical music, Afro-pop, playing piano, hiking, camping, wilderness of any sort, but above all my sons and my grandson Dante. Now in Tucson, AZ, hiking the desert and mountains and getting into as much mischief as possible. Life motto: eat half, walk double, laugh triple, love without measure. (Tibetan proverb). As a host, I delight in meeting new people from all corners of life, making them comfortable in my home, and helping them discover amazing spots in Tucson and Arizona. As Airbnb guest, I'm always learning from many warm and welcoming hosts how to improve my own guests' experience.
