Ukungena kondwendwe
The access to the property requires an SUV vehicle for the last 6 kms, which is a gravel road; a 4x4 is great.

Ezinye izinto ekufuneka uziqaphele
The farm is certified under Pago por Servicios Ambientales, FONAFIFO, an initiative that pays farm owners, such as myself, for protecting forest. The property is located in a rural community where knowledge of the Spanish language is necessary to get around. My caretaker speaks limited English and I am not always on the property, but we can assist you in finding local activities and services that will make your stay unforgettable.
We have wireless internet access. Many guests have been successful getting wi-fi on the terrace. However we cannot guarantee that you will have a stable connection throughout your stay.
Regarding food, we can serve meals for an extra fee. If you want to cook meals yourself, you must shop for groceries prior to your arrival. There is a small pulperìa nearby, that sells some basic necessities, but is not a full supermarket. We stock the kitchen with cooking utensils, drinking water.
Things to bring: insect repellent, sunscreen, flashlight or headlamp, hiking shoes, food, refillable water bottle, rain jacket. Nights are chilly.

The neighborhood is a close knit rural community. You can choose to interact with the community by participating in activities undertaken by the community. Otherwise the property is situated on a private piece of land, and you will likely not interact with anybody aside from the farmhand and his family: wife and children 7 and 8, if you are willing to.
There is a pulperia (very small convenience store) just 1 km. from the farm, and here you have a chance to interact with locals, if you are interested. People are very friendly.

After living in the suburbs of San Josè, I decided to buy this farm, restore the surrounding forest and embark on a new venture. I was looking for a new way of life, in communion with nature and helping the surrounding community to protect their natural resources and enhance their livelihoods. When the visitors house is not being rented, I love having my 3 kids, spouses and three grandchildren over, so that they can also be in contact with nature. When I am not working at the farm, I spend time in San Jose with my children and grandchildren, and enjoy quilting, the outdoors, cooking and spending time with my extended family and friends.
