Comfortable beach house with second & third floor decks, located in island neighborhood, with private beach & dock, surrounded by coral reef and dolphin sanctuary! Includes access to kayaks and snorkel gear!

Indawo
Start snorkeling right off the dock. You can swim up to the dolphin enclosure. They will usually come up to the fence netting to say hello. It's tempting to pet them, but please do not as it makes the dolphin staff unhappy.

Swim/snorkel to either side of the dolphin pen for superb snorkeling featuring abundant coral, all kinds of fish, turtles, rays, eels, flamingo tongues, and much more!

Play it safe and stay inside the reef. The water is shallow and calm. There is lots of sea life here!

Stronger, experienced swimmers can venture outside the reef on calm days (mornings are best). Here the water is deeper and rougher but the snorkeling can be spectacular! Lots of little canyons and sandy pits to explore in the 15-50 foot range. The reef wall drops off dramatically in spots to 80 feet or much more. Please ask Nevada for a buoy to take with you as it lets boats see you more easily. This area is for advanced swimmer/snorkelers only! Plenty can go wrong outside the reef if you don't know what you're doing!

Sandy Bay, Bay Islands, Honduras

The house is located in a real Honduran neighborhood. Although a large resort and other beach rentals surround the house, this is not a resort/vacation community. Outside the property's fence you will see and hear the local people, children, dogs, and day-to-day activities that make up this great little neighborhood.

We are not a resort, hotel, B&B, lodge, etc. We are also not a luxury accommodation. Please adjust your expectations accordingly.

Hello!

I was born and raised in Buffalo, New York; went to high school and college in Arkansas; and then lived in Denver, Colorado until 2014.

I’ve been living on the island of Roatan since then. Roatan is 35 miles off the coast of Honduras. It's surrounded by coral reef and the Caribbean Sea.

I use AirBnB to manage a rental property here, located in Sandy Bay on the north side of the island. It has a large studio apartment on the first floor and a separate, two+ bedroom rental house on the second and third floors. It's a little slice of palm-tree-fringed heaven right on the beach!

While I spend most of my time in Honduras or traveling elsewhere, I still call Colorado home. I have two long term rental houses in Denver. I also have family there whom I stay with when I return. So, I use Denver as a home base when I’m Stateside.

I'm a PADI/SSI divemaster and an SSI freediving instructor. I run a part-time freediving center (Freedive Roatan) on the El Rancho Delfín property.

I also take photos of the underwater scooter tours run by Ocean Connections in West End.

If you're an animal lover coming to Roatan, I always need pet meds of all kinds! Flea, tick, mange, worm and heart worm medicines are most needed, but I’ll take anything and any quantity! I spend a lot of time and money helping local families sterilize, medicate, and feed their dogs and cats. I often partner with local groups and nonprofits on the island.

I hope to see you in the future!

Cheers,
Nevada

I live on the property but let guests have their privacy. I'm available if needed. I work a lot, so messaging me through AirBnB is the easiest way to reach me.
