Enjoy this one-of-a-kind getaway in an authentic Mongolian yurt set in a private forest of lodge pole pines. Our yurt is 19 feet in diameter and accommodates up to four guests. We provide just about everything you will need for your mountain retreat. Bring your own food, drinks, coffee, and ice. Located just minutes from Brainard Lake Recreation Area and Indian Peaks Wilderness. In summer - hike, paddle, fish, site see. In winter - snow shoe/x-country ski. Rest, relax and recreate!

We invite you to enjoy the cozy, romantic ambience of this unique lodging alternative nestled in its very own pine forest. This glamping getaway offers 280+ square feet in a fully equipped mountain yurt just a short scenic drive west of Boulder, Colorado off the Peak-to-Peak Highway above the historic mining town of Ward, CO. After you arrive and park in the designated parking spot (among the aspen trees) you will walk down a dirt path/old roadway to the yurt site, about 75 yards.

Cozy, compact, but with all kinds of creature comforts. The yurt has electric heat, an exhaust fan, outdoor propane grill, and propane two-burner camp-style stove for cooking indoors, running water during the summer/early fall. Portable water jugs are used in the cold months. There are several outlets for charging devices. Soothing, low light is provided by battery-powered lanterns, rope lighting and faux candles. We have running water supplied by our well for washing dishes, but suggest guests bring drinking water. The yurt has a well-stocked kitchenette including cooking oils, spices, pots, pans, a tea kettle, French press, cooking utensils, cups, bowls, plates, silverware, knives, wineglasses, bottle & can & wine openers. There are paper towels, dish cloths, hand sanitizer, and cleaning supplies. We have complimentary tea and hot cocoa mix. Bring your own COFFEE for the French press. Wifi via ViaSat is available on the property, closer to the owners’ residence, up the hill from the yurt -- but NOT at the yurt itself. There is a rustic outhouse nearby which serves as the toilet.

The yurt layout is completely open with specific sections for meal prep, dining, sleeping, and reading in a rocker/glider. There is one double bed and two twins in the trundle daybed.

The yurt surroundings feature an outdoor cooking & dining area and an intimate outdoor “living area” including Adirondack chairs and cocktail tables with solar lighting.

The yurt sits at approximately 9,200 ft. downhill from the owners' residence which is approximately 100 yards away. It is located off a dirt county road, providing winter access (4-wheel drive strongly recommended in winter months).

This yurt and its surroundings provide a wonderful retreat from the work-a-day world of the city no matter the time of year. Enjoy your favorite beverage as you relax under the tall pines. Escape the city and summer heat in the cool shade. The golden quaking Aspen leaves will greet you in September. Come winter, feel the exhilaration of a fresh snowfall as you snowshoe or cross-country ski the miles of trails just minutes away at Brainard Lake Recreation Area.

Play all day in Indian Peaks Wilderness, Brainard Lake Recreation Area, Estes Park, Rocky Mountain National Park or any of the dozens of nearby attractions and then retire to this peaceful private haven where you can unwind and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature.

Whether you are seeking a romantic getaway for two or a fun get-together with family or friends, this cozy, yet comfortable yurt provides the ambience, relaxation and amenities to accommodate most types of gatherings.

It serves as the perfect home base while you explore the area’s incredible recreational, entertainment and historical offerings. There is truly something for everyone right in the vicinity.

I am a semi-native Coloradan – having migrated over 30 years ago from Iowa. I enjoy hiking, backpacking, fishing, lake kayaking, camping and cross country skiing. I spend a lot of time at my mountain house relaxing and enjoying the great outdoors. It serves as a really good "base camp" with close proximity to various attractions and recreational activities. I am NEVER bored. I create hand-made rustic home accents, furnishings and fixtures from local forest materials gathered on hikes. I also love to entertain friends and family, read, watch movies, visit various museums, learn about history, travel, nutrition, religion, and self-development. Two of my favorite quotes are: "Chance favors the prepared mind" and "Persistence is omnipotent". My husband, Lindsey, and I really enjoy meeting and visiting with new acquaintances locally, when we host and when we travel. We are both really friendly and talkative and love to help others feel welcomed and comfortable when we are hosting. As travelers, we love to engage with locals and really learn the ins and outs of a place, exploring those places "off the beaten path". Likewise, we love to share our knowledge of our neck of the woods and to serve as a great resource to visitors.
