Exclusive glamping in the heart of Wiltshire. This site, comprising three bell tents in a four-acre field on an established alpaca farm, offers a unique experience both secluded in nature and fully equipped. As well as visiting the alpacas and learning about life on the farm, you can enjoy walking or cycling in the surrounding countryside, visiting the nearby National Trust village of Lacock or exploring the Georgian city of Bath. Jane and David will greet you and show you to your tent.

Indawo
You will have one of three spacious 6-metre canvas bell tents named after a Wiltshire bird. Your tent, Red Kite, is fully equipped so you don't have to bring a thing. You’ll have a fully made up double bed with sprung mattress; futon-style mattresses are available on request for children (the tent will comfortably sleep a family of four). A log burner is installed to keep you warm on cool nights, while a selection of throws, rugs and cushions add to the cosy atmosphere. Your tent is allocated a private composting toilet and there are two shared gas-powered hot showers. Outside, you can relax in the deck chairs provided, cook your meals over the fire pit or using the camping gas stoves allocated to your tent, and enjoy time together at the picnic table. Pots, pans, crockery, cutlery and glasses are provided, along with a cool box for food storage, and a washing up trough with running water.

We encourage an eco-friendly ethos; you will be provided with environmentally friendly products and waste recycling facilities. Our own home uses ground source heating and a bio digester.

Easy, private parking, close to the glamping site.

Ukungena kondwendwe
The three bell tents are located in a four-acre field, with private parking adjacent. They are well spaced, allowing you plenty of privacy. You will have access to a private composting toilet (one toilet allocated to each tent) and shared gas-powered showers (separate male/female facilities). Outside space includes a picnic table, deck chairs and cooking facilities allocated to each tent.

Ezinye izinto ekufuneka uziqaphele
We would strongly recommend that you bring sturdy footwear with you. You will be very welcome to tour the farm, accompanied by Jane, David or another team member. Our alpacas are kept in a strict bio-secure environment, which means that everyone is required to dip their footwear in disinfectant on entering the farm. We'd therefore suggest that you bring either wellington boots or hiking shoes for this purpose.

Covid-19: For the safety and protection of our guests and everyone at LacockAlpaca, we are pleased to be implementing the Air BnB Covid-19 enhanced cleaning protocol. Your tent and all other facilities available to you will be thoroughly cleaned before your arrival, and all high-touch surfaces will be sanitized. You will be provided with carefully cleaned crockery, glassware, bed linen and towels. A cleaning checklist will be available in your tent, for your information. Cleaning and disinfectant products will be at your disposal for use throughout your stay. Hand sanitizer will be available at various locations around the farm, and we would encourage you to use it whenever possible. Further details will be sent to you upon booking.

LacockAlpaca is a small, friendly farm run by Jane Gardner-Turrell and David Turrell, and is home to a wonderful herd of 29 alpacas. On retiring in 2014, after over 40 years each in leadership in education, these endearing creatures caught our imagination. We bought Oakley Farm, and, with the help of a nearby alpaca breeder, we embarked on our alpaca journey. We have always been committed to nature and our natural environment, and believe that we are all custodians of our countryside. Having inquisitive, beautiful and intelligent creatures to love and care for on this land is a great joy, which we love to share with others. We are happy to answer any questions you may have, or to just talk all things alpaca! We have lived and travelled in many parts of the world and we love to have people around us and to share what we can. "I have promises to keep And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep". --- Robert Frost
