On the shore of Lough Derg, 1km from Mountshannon village in East Co.Clare, this detached bungalow is on a quiet cul de sac surrounded by woodland. At the end of the garden there is a small private sandy beach with lake access where guests can bring canoes, kayaks or a lake boat to the shallow waters and mooring on the property.
Lough Derg is an excellent water sports location and a world famous fishing destination for brown trout and coarse fishing, particularly renowned for its Mayfly season.

Indawo
The property is a well used and loved Holiday Home, but you should find everything comfortable, clean and in good working order. The bungalow is on a quiet private cul de sac road, south facing surrounded by grass lawn and pine trees. The entrance leads into an open plan kitchen, dining and seating area which benefits from a picturesque view of Lough Derg with the hills Co.Tipperary in the distance. There is a cozy solid fuel stove in this room which opens onto the outdoor patio. Adjoining the kitchen is a sitting room which also looks out towards the lake through sliding doors onto the patio. The sitting room has an open fireplace and TV. A corridor links the kitchen to the rear of the house, where there are three bedrooms – one double bed, one single plus bunk bed, and one bunk bed. There is a bathroom with wc, sink and bath/shower and there is a separate small wc. There is ample parking on the drive way adjacent to the house. The house is surrounded by grass lawn and then surrounded on three sides by a strip of woodland.

The lake garden and lake access is approximately 100metres from the house, (directly across the private lane that services the five other houses on the lane). It is a gently sloping grass & sand beach which is suitable for launching and mooring kayaks, canoes or lakeboats. The water is shallow (2-3ft) for about 50 yards into the lake where it tapers off to 8ft and deeper.

The lake makes this a special location – the view, the constantly changing light and the potential for activity on the water or in the hills and forests nearby. Mounshannon village itself is a very well kept small town with a beautiful park and playground at its centre, a public marina and beach, as well as a small restaurant, two pubs, a pub restaurant and a garage. Killaloe is located 27km to the south and Portumna 27km to the north. Limerick City is about an hour drive, and Dublin Airport about 2.5 hrs. East Clare is dominated by rolling hills and forest as well as the Lake and is an excellent hiking, walking, cycling and boating region. Portumna Forest is a particularly well laid out and maintained park with many extensive walking and cycling routes.
