Conveniently located just minutes from Itasca State Park in the Mississippi Headwaters region this North Central Minnesota property is historic, quiet, and beautiful.

The Property includes 3 apartment-style Cabins with accommodations for between 1 to 10 people. While the cabin building is over 100 years old, the Cabins/units are “Rustic Yet Clean” and sport all modern amenities including comfortable bedding and lightning-fast Internet.

Yola Lodge resides on a beautiful historic tract of North Central Minnesota land in the Mississippi Headwaters region, just minutes from Itasca State Park and dozens of lakes. The property is comprised of several buildings including the main house and cabin building.

There are 3 separate cabins/apartment-style units in the Motel-looking “cabin building” just off County Road 4; between the main house, and the shop building. These units are all “Rustic yet Clean”. Rustic in that the cabin building is over 100 years old, and aside from the add-on current technology and creature comforts, the last major renovation was several was a while ago. We don’t control the age of the property; however, we strive to keep the units meticulously clean. We follow the Covid-19 protocols as part of our cleaning procedures between each guest stay.

The Largest of the 3 units; CABIN 2 has a full kitchen, a full bathroom, and a comfortable queen bed with a twin/single bed in a bunk above. Add in a Flatscreen TV with Cable, Lightning Fast (2GB/sec) Internet access via WIFI or Cat5/6 cable, microwave oven, an 8-cup coffee pot, and everything you require to cook/prepare food you have a quaint, comfortable, affordable living/workspace for 1-3 people.

The CABIN 2 Main area sleeps 1-3 in the queen & bunk beds; however, this capacity can be easily expanded to another 2 beds for adults making the maximum capacity 5 adults in fixed beds. Considering the size with or without the Bunkhouse Annex, CABIN 2 is a great space for 1-3 people for any length of stay be it 1 night, a weekender, workday-workweek, full week, month-to-month, or even long-term stays.

If you require more beds for your stay in CABIN 2, there is a small convertible room with a bunk bed that sleeps 2 adults that we call the “Bunkhouse Annex”. This room can be configured for access to CABIN 2, Cabin 2, or both CABIN 2 and Cabin 2. While the Bunkhouse Annex adds 2 more beds to CABIN 2, the additional people make for a tight fit that many would find uncomfortable for stays longer than a few days.

Cabin 2 is larger than Cabin 1 or 3. It has a full-sized, fully equipped kitchen. We also allow pets for stays in Cabin 2 as most of the flooring is hardwood and tile. When used in concert with the Bunkroom Annex, Cabin 2 is full-family ready for short or long stays.

True North Minnesota Wilderness Beauty. Yola Lodge is close enough to Bemidji, and/or Park Rapids to be convenient, and yet far enough away to be pure country peaceful.

We are located out in the Country in Northern Minnesota "State Wildlife Refuge" wilderness, a mere 3 miles north of the Lake George township and Woodlands Store, just minutes from Itasca State Park, and on the path where the expeditions to find the start of the Mississippi River passed. The area is historic, rustic, full of wildlife and some domesticated as well as farm animals.

I'm a New Orleans native who moved up to North Minnesota a few years ago seeking peace, quiet, and clean air. We purchased this Yola Lodge Property after seeing the potential in this historic property.

Professionally I am an entrepreneur who works from home here at Yola Lodge, managing business interests across the country.

I first began AirBNB hosting of the Cabins/Apartments located in the old lodge building located on our property in September 2019. It's been a learning process as, until now, I've never been a landlord or AirBNB host. However, being a service-minded person, I believe in delivering the highest level of service excellence possible for our guests. This led to becoming a super-host on AirBNB within a year of joining the platform.

As a direct result of regularly surveying our guests, we continue to perfect delivery of a (Covid-19 protocol) clean, affordable, “Rustic yet Clean” property with all the modern amenities that really matter to our guests at an affordable price. Our guests confirm that we provide quality bedding, linens & towels, state-of-the-art fiber-optic delivered high speed (2gb/sec) Internet service, in a historic property that has housed travelers for over 100 years.

I am excited about the future of the property servicing the year-round demand from tourists and travelers to this area.
