Wyldwood Eco Cabin is a peaceful private retreat located on a 50 acre coastal property midway between Tathra & Bermagui. The pristine beaches of Mimosa Rocks National Park are just a short drive away. The cabin has a comfortable retro vibe with great views of the countryside from its elevated position. Awesome satellite internet to ‘work from home’. Surfing, walking & fishing nearby at Picnic Point, Aragunuu, Bithry, Middle Beach, Gillards, & Nelsons. For nature lovers wanting to totally relax.

Indawo
The Eco Cabin is around 40 square metres, with additional space outside including a porch & verandah. The private two-roomed space is solar powered, light and airy. There's a new kitchen with a full gas oven & grill and a bar fridge. A wood heater for the cooler days and nights will keep you cosy.
The rain water tank is newly installed, the water fresh and clean. The instant gas hot water service is great, delivering hot water to the kitchen and a 'rainfall' shower and hand basin outside in a semi enclosed deck area. The toilet is located in a separate small shed and is similar to the 'windy-loos' encountered at road side stops and camping grounds (it is not a flush toilet).
Being solar powered and on tank water, the cabin is designed for conservative use of power and water. As with all solar power systems, if there are several grey or rainy days we may need to use a generator to charge the batteries. It’s a quiet generator & only needs to be ‘on’ for an hour or two.
The side porch overlooks bushland and one of our oldest trees. There's a sheltered front verandah and deck to take in the views of rolling idyllic countryside, with the sacred Mumbulla Mountain in the distance. You will love rocking in the egg-chair.
Inside, up a couple of steps from the kitchen/dining area you enter the lounge and bedroom. Here you find a club lounge, retro furnishings, a very comfortable Queen bed with quality cotton linen, and a TV/DVD player (lots of DVDs to choose from).
The Eco Cabin has satellite NBN available, enabling internet & wifi. Mobile coverage is via ‘wifi-calling”. Enjoy an off-grid slow retreat with your dog welcome. The drive to the cabin is a gravel track with trees either side. You will love the experience of entering a natural sanctuary. The main residence where we live is short walk away (about 300 meters).

Recent review: “We had a lovely couple of days at Wyldwood. It’s close enough to reach some lovely beaches and the Bega valley. Madeleine is a great host and has lots of local tips. The cabin was super clean, has a really well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed, and wonderful views over the surrounding bush. The cabin was cosy with the very efficient wood burning stove. The cabin has a great porch where you can sit, have a drink and watch the passing wildlife, wonderful birds, kangaroos and even a wombat. The highlight is the outside shower. There is nothing more magnificent than to stand under a hot shower on a clear night and watch the stars as you shower. If you like being in the bush, give it a try! Bruce & Gayle Williamson 27 June 2020“

Ukungena kondwendwe
You are welcome to use wifi calling & text messaging if you need assistance. However, we understand that you may prefer to come and go without making personal contact. Especially in relation to Covid 19, we will maintain social distancing & respect your privacy. The cabin is provided with hand sanitizer, disinfectant spray and wipes.

Ezinye izinto ekufuneka uziqaphele
As mentioned above, there is no mobile signal at the cabin but there is satellite internet that supports wifi calling, this service is switched ‘on’ in the “Settings” of your mobile, and works the same way as a mobile signal. So you can make & receive calls. The satellite internet has a download speed (12 Mbps) sufficient for most online uses of browsing, zooming, FaceTime, WhatsApp etc, and streaming. Upload speed is slower (0.9 Mbps), this is a consideration if your intention is to send big video or design files.
The CosyGlo unflued gas heater is provided for a quick morning warm up and must not be used overnight. Please use the wood heater for longer periods day or night.

Tanja is ideally located in the cultural hub of the Far South Coast. Whether it's culinary delights or creative pursuits, everything is a short country drive away. Please keep in mind that social distancing and Covid safe hygiene are expected at all times. There are plenty of food outlets, cafes & restaurants to choose from. The area is welcoming to visitors who are the mainstay of the local economy.
Many restaurants require bookings. It’s best to make enquirers directly with the venues.

Bermagui Hotel has live music and a stunning outlook. On the way there you will drive past Murrah Hall and Four Winds - both venues with live music and performances.

The coast from Tathra to Bermagui is nearly all national park, with lots of gravel roads leading you to pristine and secluded beaches. Snorkelling, swimming and surfing is always an option, as is sitting under the shade with a good book. If you prefer patrolled beaches, Tathra and Bermagui have great beaches for sunbathing and catching waves. Bermagui’s Blue Pool is a wonderful ocean pool that is good for a swim or snorkelling. Kianniny Bay at Tathra is a pretty sheltered cove. Further south is Merimbula, Pambula, and Eden. All well worth a visit.
