Wooded seclusion 30 minutes from downtown Nashville!

Escape the city to our private cabin on 20 acres surrounded by a 21,000 acre Wildlife Management Area. You can hardly see our home from the front porch. The cabin is nestled in the back corner of our lot and right beside where our creeks combine into a small swimming hole. Hop in the hammock and relax, walk the creeks, pick wildflowers or give the animals a treat. Just be yourself and enjoy some quiet, you deserve it!

Indawo
We're working on internet and wifi here. Our place is very new and designed to be the ultimate private getaway. (Getaway meaning very limited cell reception) but we understand the need and are working on these amenities for you. Enjoy crossing the creeks to our little hideout!

A note from our wonderful neighbors: Escape the city to our private cabin surrounded by wildlife! Where you will hear no traffic, only the Songs of Mother Nature. Where, on a clear night, you can view the Milky Way and the Stars Shine like Diamonds on Black Velvet.
After a full day, of birding, hiking, biking, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, golfing, antiquing, sightseeing or just relaxing and laughing at the antics of our farm animals; relax with "s'mores" by the Creekside fire then be lulled asleep by the sounds of frogs and crickets to be awakened by songbirds announcing the glory of the coming day. Bing your binoculars to spot, Tufted Tit Mouse, Chickadee, Yellow Finch, Nuthatch, Pileated Woodpecker, House Finch, Barn Swallow, Wood Thrush, Ruby Breasted Groos Beak, Cardinals, Blue Birds, Bard Owls, Hoot Owls, Yellow Shafted Flickers, Red-Tailed Hawks, Blue Heron or an occasional Bald Eagle to name a few.
Take a Ranger-led tour of Mound Bottom or drive the Quilt Trail. Take aim at the TWRA shooting range or visit a local winery.
Feast on Southern Delights like Hickory Smoked BBQ, Fried Catfish and Chicken (Fried or Hot), Wood-fired Pizza, and intimate live music at the "Fillin Station" where you never know who may show up.
Take the short drive south to visit the Historic Franklin Battlefield and Carnton Plantation House.
Leave your cares behind at this "off the grid" location where cell service is spotty and WIFI non-existent. NOTE: Both are available a 1/2 mile away.

What to bring: Sturdy shoes or boots, backpack, binoculars, canoe/kayak, bug repellent, sunscreen, your favorite foods/drinks and some room in your heart to soak it all in!

Ukungena kondwendwe
We're happy to share the whole space with you! We have a shop, barn, greenhouse, several creeks, small swimming hole in the creek, a washer/dryer in our house that you can use. We've cut trails around our fence for you to walk or make your own trail up either creek for small waterfalls and shallow wading areas. We share an easement to our 20 acre farm so we ask that you drive very slow (5mph) in and out please. Please do not go into any areas, fences or stalls with animals unless we are with you. We love our animals but they can be territorial and unpredictable. We will gladly accept help feeding or giving treats, we just want you to be safe.

Ezinye izinto ekufuneka uziqaphele
I may have mentioned before. There are 2 creek crossings to access our place. The first is a water crossing that's very shallow but may pose issue if your vehicle is extremely low to the ground, the second is a concrete bridge. Photos of creek crossing in the photo album. Although it's a 1 bedroom, we've had several guests sleep comfortably on the dual reclining couch, single recliner and two fold out cots. We have a regular coffee pot and filters.

Our little town is packed with local owned businesses, wood fire pizza, live music bar, ice cream/gelato, fresh market store, Mexican food, hot chicken, yoga, library, salons, landscaping venue and farms that host seasonal events as well as seasonal art in the park and a farmer's market. Too much to list, it's a small place but we've packed it all in here for whatever your heart needs!

Hello! We're a small family that found a beautiful piece of land to settle on. It took years to find the ideal spot and this is it! It's our life's work and we absolutely love sharing the things we grow and raise here. Our daughter operates a cart at the end of our drive with produce, flowers and fresh eggs. We frequent livestock auctions and always have an abundance of critters. The cabin was built to live in temporarily, while our home was finished, eventually becoming a guest cabin. Our friends and family frequent here and assist with our adventure. We want to share it with you and yours as well ! It's not perfect, sometimes muddy, things break, animals get out, etc. We love every bit of it ! We hope you will too. When you stay, you're welcome to the garden and eggs. Our intention is to leave something for you in the cabin to plant while you're here. The contribution of you as our guest can remain for a lifetime! Looking forward to sharing our experience with you.
