▪︎ Due to the unique nature of this listing, it is imperative that you read through it carefully. Please give the password located somewhere in this listing in your communication with me so I know you have read it. If you do not give the password, I will ask that you go read the listing more thoroughly.

▪︎We do not discriminate based on age, gender, race, citizenship, religion, political beliefs, or sexual orientation, but children under the age of 6 are not permitted for safety reasons.

▪︎There is a one night minimum stay. Exceptions are holiday weekends which are a three night minimum.

▪︎If you do not see desired dates available, check out our other property listed under my profile, The Tin Can at Case Rock titled " REMOTE Tin Can | 105 Acres | Hiking | ✓Pets." It is adjacent to the eco-retreat, but you can have access to the trails, your car, as well as modern amenities. Or, you may find availability at the off-grid cabin, titled "Off-Grid Tiny House | REMOTE | Hiking | Fishing."

▪︎ Tired of staring at your same four walls? This crisis has definitely made everyone a bit stir crazy, and people need to escape to nature while at the same time socially distancing. Except have you visited the parks and public trails lately? Cars and people everywhere, all in search of the same mental break. True nature lovers cringe as they see their favorite places overrun. Never has there been a better time to escape your daily grind and come to Case Rock Eco-Retreat. Drive merely 30 min up the interstate from downtown Birmingham, and a short drive from the exit, you will park your car at the goat pen, throw your belongings in the back of our UTV, and one of our staff will drive you what will seem like a hundred miles away from society onto our 105 acre sanctuary. You will hike beautiful scenery, play in the river, and chill in your lounge chair on an observation deck that lets you truly escape the world below. Our slogan of "rest, reboot, renew" has never been more timely and more necessary!

▪︎ Have you ever dreamed of exploring a remote territory? Have you ever fantasized about staying in a 4x4 overland vehicle in the middle of nowhere? We have built an adult's playground, supplying the large toy for the off-grid adventurer in your life, a 1966 UNIMOG, housed in a dock with features that will bring out the kid in you. On our 105 acres a mere 30 min from downtown Birmingham, you will feel like you are half a world away. From the observation tower to the vintage German military equipment to the outdoor shower, you will think you have died and gone to overlanding heaven. We have taken on all the trouble and expense of buying the vehicle and transporting it to a trailhead far away from civilization. The adventures are up to you. Nowhere else on earth can you attempt a camping expedition like MOG Mountain without spending tons of money and investing a lot of effort.

* NOTE: You are sleeping in, not driving, the UNIMOG. We aren't that crazy!

At its heart, MOG Mountain is a stage where you can act out your childhood fantasies. A UNIMOG is a European 4x4 vehicle made by Mercedes Benz. Like HUMMVs, these vehicles are used for rugged extreme travels, and for everything from fire trucks to snow plows to communications vehicles to soldier transport. However, because they are made by Mercedes Benz, they are way cooler and better made. This particular one was a German communications vehicle and has been converted into a simple RV with the removal of the original cabinetry and the addition of a bed. This space is the main sleeping compartment of the MOG Dock. It sleeps 2 on a memory foam mattress/futon that converts to a small couch. This UNIMOG in particular was used in several film and TV productions filmed in Georgia including The Walking Dead and The Hunger Games. There is even dried zombie blood on the window! It truly is the AirBnB to help you survive the zombie apocalypse!™ The MOG dock itself is an elaborate off-grid covered pavilion built to house the UNIMOG. There are three levels to MOG Mountain.

LEVEL 1
-- The UNIMOG (sleeps 2) with optional mosquito netting
--Small kitchen
--Composting toilet
--Eating and living space (enough space if two people wanted to sleep here, must bring own air mattress)
--Outdoor shower

LEVEL 2
--Open air sleeping loft (sleeps 2) with camping mattress. No linens are provided for this sleeping area. If you will be using it, you should bring sleeping bags and a pillow.

LEVEL 3
--Observation tower accessible by ladder with winch, pulley, and bucket system for raising and lowering items (not pets or people) into the tower. Bring your picnic with you to enjoy at the top!

▪︎ The pavilion is open on all sides, so you are shielded from the sun and rain, yet can enjoy the fresh air and views of the woods surrounding MOG Mountain. The only enclosed spaces are the toilet closet and the sleeping compartment of the UNIMOG. Mosquito netting is provided for the UNIMOG sleeping area only, but you should also bring bug spray.

▪︎ If you'd like to bring more than 4 people, just ask. We will work with you on the size of your party.

▪︎ Also provided are towels, sheets, soap, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and paper products.

▪︎ We know how hard it is to find an AirBnB that takes pets, so we welcome most dog breeds except Rottweilers, Dobermans, pit bulls and pit mixes (insurance company rules). We do not charge a pet fee. They just need to be OK with riding in the Ranger with you to MOG Mountain.

▪︎ We recently acquired goats and two Anatolian Shepherd livestock guardian dogs which are kept behind a fence at base camp where you park your car. You may pet the goats if they will let you as they are still getting used to people. We have five baby goats. We ask that you keep your dogs in your car until check-in process is complete so that it doesn't freak our animals out.

▪︎ Follow us on IG @caserockcabin to see additional pictures and read about our building process.

▪︎ Not only are you enjoying the off-grid adventure camping experience, you also have 105 acres of trails at your back door. You will enjoy solitude and the quietness of being on the sparsely populated property. In order to reach MOG Mountain, we will pick you up and drop you off in a Ranger. All other trips back and forth are up to you.

▪︎ MOG Mountain is located on the main trail surrounded by woods. The Locust Fork River access is 1/4 mile down the trail from the MOG dock.

▪︎ It is advised you bring food and a cooler with you with ice as there is no refrigerator. When you check in, you should not plan on dropping your things at MOG Mountain and then going out to dinner. Logistically this is difficult due to the length and challenge of the hike out to your car. We strongly advise you eat dinner before you come, bring take-out, or bring ingredients with you to cook.

MOG Mountain is OFF-GRID. The dock features:

▪︎ a composting toilet (a high-end sanitary toilet with no smell. You will need to empty the urine container when it gets full but we will dispose of the solid waste.)
▪︎ solar panels and an on-site generator
▪︎ non-potable water from the water tanks (except in below freezing temperatures when the water system must be winterized)
▪︎ drinking water from water dispenser
▪︎ electric lights with USB ports in the walls
▪︎ hot shower with propane instant hot water heater (except when water system has been winterized)
▪︎ solar bag shower for use in winter when water system is unavailable
▪︎ one burner propane stove (there is no oven)
▪︎ THERE IS NO AC. A battery powered fan would be a good idea in summer.
▪︎ THERE IS NO REFRIGERATOR. You should bring a cooler with ice. We also sell ice for $4 a bag.

▪︎ Water system in winter--it is possible while you are staying Nov-April that you may have no running water. Water is only used for washing up and showering, so you can still function without it. We always provide bottled drinking water, hand sanitizer, and a solar bag shower should you require it.

▪︎ There is also a fire pit in front of the dock for your enjoyment.

▪︎ Kitchen has basic equipment including one burner propane stove, a pot, pan, some dishes and silverware, basic utensils, and sink with running non-potable water. We provide a French press, coffee, tea, creamer and sugar.

▪︎Drinking water is provided in the form of a 5 gallon jug with dispenser.

▪︎ Cell phone reception— Cell phone reception can be spotty. There is no Wifi at MOG Mountain. You may use the Wifi at the main house in a pinch. If you are hiking alone, we give you a radio.

▪︎Float in an inner tube or kayak down river to the bridge, a 1 to 5 hour long trip depending on the current. This trip should only be attempted when the river is at safe levels. Sudden heavy rains can make the river unnavigable. In fall/winter/spring the river is often high. We charge $10 per person to transport boats/inner tubes to the river and pick you up at the bridge.

▪︎Fish in the Locust Fork River. Bring your own equipment. Bait (worms) can be purchased at Ace Hardware in Warrior.

▪︎We require that you sign waivers before you stay at MOG Mountain to make sure you are aware of the inherent, but unlikely, dangers you may encounter on the property. The waivers can also be found in the rules section of this listing.

We offer souvenir t-shirts for $20 each. We ship!

▪︎To ensure that people have fully read this description, please give the password: "Banana pancakes" in your message to me. If you do not give us this password, I will ask that you go to read the listing fully.

Kimberly, Alabama, United States

You are located 30 minutes north of Birmingham, Alabama, a thriving city with a rich food and music scene. Its award-winning restaurants, killer music venues, museums, and shopping can keep you busy for days should you venture from Case Rock Compound. The main entrance to MOG Mountain is two miles off I-65, and two miles from the nearest grocery store, restaurants, pharmacy, and gas stations in the nearby town of Warrior. The real draw here is the Locust Fork River, which is an unregulated, scenic river good for fishing and floating downstream when the water levels are lower. The cabin sits high above the river, safely out of the flood zone, so it can be enjoyed year-round. You can enjoy the sound and view of the river, as well as the surrounding 105 acres and all its natural features. Nearby you will find Rickwood Caverns State Park which conducts tours in its enormous underground caverns. Further north, you can rent kayaks and canoes and enjoy the whitewater sections of the Locust Fork River. Whether natural attractions or man-made, this area offers many reasons to visit.
