Hello travelers!! Looking for a cozy & comfortable place to stay on Kent Island? Come enjoy this clean & beautifully renovated apartment above our family home, overlooking Cox Creek. This apartment is attached to our house built above our garage, we live on the property. Private entrance on the side of our house (20 steep steps up). One bedroom, queen bed. Plus an easy to assemble blow up air mattress, to sleep an additional two. WiFi included. Beautiful porch to sit & enjoy water views!

This apartment is roughly 550 square feet. She is tiny, but mighty! Beautifully decorated, organized, clean, with all the essentials you could need! Due to limited space there is no dresser to put clothes. There is a small closet with plenty of hangers. This apt. comfortably accommodates two people & can accommodate up to four people with the air mattress but it’s an extremely tight fit. Bring a vehicle, Uber/Lyft options are minimal and sometimes unavailable in this area.

Please read the ENTIRE description below prior to booking, to ensure this space will work for your group. The driveway and pier is shared with us. The gated part of our backyard is off limits to guests. This is our family home, we live on the property. We have an outdoor surveillance system.

For both privacy and hygiene reasons our gated backyard and elements within the gated part of our backyard are not for guest use. You may access the pier by walking around the perimeter of our backyard fence and use kayaks if you would like.

•NO PETS whatsoever. no exceptions.
•No children.
•NO SMOKING OF ANY KIND is permitted in this apartment or on the property whatsoever. We have a surveillance system outdoors.
•NO EARLY CHECKIN OR LATE CHECKOUT- FIRM.
•For both liability & privacy reasons, absolutely nobody is permitted on the property or in the apartment, except for the renters that were accounted for when booking. The maximum amount of guests on the property should never exceed four people OR two vehicles.

We do not supply an unlimited amount of household cleaning products/supplies/toiletries. We provide a few starter supplies for each group. such as 1 roll of paper towels, a few rolls of toilet paper, a few detergent pods etc.. our guests are responsible for providing their own the rest of their stay.

We are looking to host respectful, quiet and easy-going guests on our family property :) We are very courteous of our guests, as well as extremely caring hosts. BUT please understand that this is our family home. If you are looking for a completely private & quiet experience outdoors this may not be the place for you.
We live here & there is potential for daytime noise and hustle/bustle of our daily lives. We do not pause our normal daily routine when we have renters.
We have dogs in our gated backyard that may bark at you if they are outside, or the neighbors dog may bark occasionally. We have children that play outside. The apartment overlooks our backyard where we spend a lot of time hanging out/playing. We may be having a get-together in our backyard at any point, especially on weekends. We share a driveway with you so you may hear us getting in/out of our cars and cars starting up earlier in the morning, as we get going to work. Additionally we may have yard work or home repairs getting done at any point, so there’s the potential to see workers around the property/driveway in this instance. Any personal visitors we have will also park on the driveway, so you may see random people in passing and people in the backyard. Although these examples are not “all the time” occurances they are all definite possibilities during your stay. Please just keep in mind that this is not your own private oasis and that you are staying at our family home.
As long as you understand this.. I think you will really enjoy the apartment, property and water view as our guests usually do! With all that being said, we look forward to providing a comfortable and nice stay for you!

•The water photo in this listing shows when the water is at its highest point. We live at the end of Cox creek, so depending on the tide the water can be very low down to the mud at some points during the day, so fishing/kayaking can be limited.

We are located on Kent Island, five minute drive to route 50 & the Chesapeake Bay Bridge!
This is not a location to easily walk or bike places from the apartment. We are however a short 5-7 minute drive to most restaurants/bars etc.
*Please bring a vehicle/provide your own transportation. We are in a neighborhood and not located near trails accessible from the apartment.*

Air mattress is located in the bedroom closet, sheets/pillows/blanket in closet as well. It is an easy electric with “inflate” and “deflate” buttons.
Because this is such a tiny apartment the blow up mattress takes up most of the living room area when assembled and it’s a very tight fit, not leaving much “hangout” space. I suggest traveling with others you want to get comfy and cozy with! :)

kayak use-
Our home is situated at the end of Cox Creek, so we do not always have high water. Depending on the tide, the water can be very low down to the mud at some points during the day. When It’s high tide, you are welcome to use our two Kayaks.
Please understand there is no beach/bank to easily push the kayaks into the water. Here you have to drop them into the water off the pier and balance to sit down while holding it so it doesn’t float away. You must also need to pull them back out of the water on to the pier. This can presume difficult for some and test strength. We do not offer any type of lessons, or our services to load/unload equipment or help you into the kayaks. This is an activity you must be physically able to do all on your own if you should choose to use kayaks.
You will be held liable/financially responsible for any loss or breaking of our equipment. I do not advise Kayaking unless you are experienced or are confident in your abilities. You must sign a liability form prior.

We are 5 minutes away from wedding venues such as the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club & Kent Manor Inn.
15 minutes away from the Silver Swan Bayside, Prospect Bay Country Club and Cascia Vineyards & Winery.

10 minutes away from the summertime dock bars/outdoor dining such as The Jetty, Fisherman’s Crab Deck, Red Eye’s Dock Bar, Kentmorr Restaurant/Dirty Dave’s Tiki Bar, Big Owl Tiki Bar, Fisherman’s Inn Restaurant, Bridge’s Restaurant, The Narrows Restaurant & Harris Crab House.

Retreat to Kent Island and enjoy a little eastern shore getaway. Bring your bikes and cycle the trails, schedule a local charter boat, take a day trip to St. Michael’s, enjoy some drinks at our summertime dock bars, reserve a massage at The Spa-Chesapeake Bay Beach Club, have lunch at our local seafood restaurants, crack into some fresh steamed crabs, or enjoy a round of golf at the local Blue Heron Golf Course. Our daughter Zoë, 2 years old. (plus a baby boy on the way, due late October 2021) & two dogs. We stay very busy! I am typically home when not at work. I’m happy to help you with whatever you need! The driveway is shared between our main house and the apartment. You have your own parking spot to the left to the garage which is closest to the apartment entrance.

We spend a lot of time outdoors in the backyard, boating and hanging on our back porch. You most likely will see us out and about during your stay, ESPECIALLY in the summer months. We occasionally will host a barbeque/family get-together in our gated backyard. We do not do this often, but it is a possibility. Although this should not negatively affect your stay in anyway, I just like to keep my guests informed of any possibilities. The entrance to the apartment is completely private, on the outside of the gate next to the garage. You do not have to have any interaction with us, unless wanted.

We have two large dogs and two toddlers. I suggest walking around the perimeter of the fence to the pier.
