I'm originally from Indiana, and moved to NY when I was 7. I have been with my husband, Tom ( a native New Yorker) , for 40 years and we have 4 grown children, and 3 grandchildren, with 1 more on the way. We love meeting new people, reading, traveling, and hosting. I am a retired NYC teacher, and a professional organizer ( SMART Organizing by Geri ) and my husband is a retired NYC firefighter who owns his own company ( Mineola Awnings and Signs). I like to bake, take photographs, garden, read, and relax in the backyard with my children and grandchildren when they come home. My husband likes gardening, hiking and biking. We both enjoy spending spare time with family and friends. We are hard-working, but easy-going, people and we take great pride and pleasure in our home and its upkeep. We started hosting in July 2013 to help pay for our daughter's wedding (in October 2014) and our son's college (he graduated in 2016) but we have loved the experience and meeting so many new people that we will continue hosting for many more years. 2020 Update: If you rent one of our apartments, please know that many of the pieces there are cherished family antiques and I have carefully chosen all the furnishing, decor, bedding, and linens.
