Cois Dara is a private guest house located in the foothills of the Los Padres Forest, and a five minute drive from the magical town of Ojai, California. It is named for its massive 150 year old oak tree that dominates the property.

Welcome to Cois Dara, a very unique and special property for quite time and reflection. Cois Dara's design and inspiration is based on my dream to create a place for relaxation, reflection, and renewal. The property design is based on my time in Morocco, where I stayed in a Riad and features elements of large sky vista, a garden with antique roses and an abundant orange tree, soaking tub, beautiful stone work, and an inner courtyard with pool and seating/dining area. The library is offered as a resource for the healing work that I am nationally recognized for at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical.

Cois Dara is a half acre retreat nestled at the base of the foothills of the Los Padres National Forest, yet within walking distance of the beautiful town of Ojai, 90 miles from LAX and 40 minutes from Santa Barbara.

Ojai is situated in a small east-west valley, north of Ventura and east of Santa Barbara. It is approximately 15 miles inland from the Pacific Ocean. Nordhoff Ridge, the western extension of the Topatopa Mountains, towers over the north side of the town and valley at more than 5,000 feet. Sulfur Mountain creates the southern range bounding the Ojai Valley, a little under 3,000 feet. This unique setting is widely considered one of the most sacred places on the earth. Its geology, spiritual energy, and natural beauty provided a healing ground for its earliest inhabitants, the Chumash Indians, and later, to many healers; Joseph Campbell, Anne Besant, Alice Bailey, Beatrice Woods, and Krishnamurti. Today, Ojai continues it's spiritual tradition with many retreat centers, the Kortona Institue, Meditation Mount, the Ojai Foundation, and of course, Cois Dara!

Ojai is blessed with the climate of the Mediterranean, comparable to Tuscany, and characterized by warm, dry summers, and mild winters, with cool evenings and warm sunny days.

I moved to Ojai in 2014 from Boston where I worked at Brigham and Women's Hospital as the Program Coordinator for Healing and Caring Modalities. After visiting Ojai in 2012 with my daughter, I was so intrigued with its history in the healing arts and just felt a calling to move here. Ojai has a special energy and is a profound place to relax and reflex. Communication is key so please be honest in your hopes and expectations, and I will also communicate to the best of my ability my expectations. Any use of photos need the approval of the owner. NO parties or use of illicit drugs. NO smoking of any kind on property. I will advise you of any action that I deem inappropriate and will expect a cooperative response.
