Drinks & Nightlife

This is one of our local pubs. Nice atmosphere with good music, quite busy on Thursday and Friday nights but otherwise not too busy. We really like the salt and pepper squid and the serrano harm croquettes.

This is the perfect place to have a drink outdoors on a sunny day. Lots of pubs in Notting Hill have a token outdoor area that’s mainly for smokers, but the Earl of Lonsdale had a nice big outdoor area that lets you get some sun. We haven’t eaten here.

Food Scene

Nice pub to stop off for a meal while exploring Portebollo market. We really like the Sheppard’s pie and Homemade Chicken pot pie. Both are made with chunky tender pieces of meat.

Hip brunch spot around the corner from the Hillsgate pub. They don’t take reservations and you may have to wait 15-30 minutes for a table for brunch on Saturdays and Sundays – best to go before 11am. It’s a cosy little cafe that does a lot of egg offerings, but there are also a couple of non egg dishes. Good food and atmosphere.

Arts & Culture

This is our favorite theater in London. It’s very small and intimate and you’re very close to the actors. Tickets are very limited (due to the size) and sell out pretty quickly but they do get returned / cancelled tickets and if there’s something you’d really like to see, you can turn up 15 minutes before start time to check if there are any returned / cancelled tickets. We got 2 tickets for The Convert this way.
