This Mid Century Modern Boutique hotel has great outdoor dining and a nice happy hour. Be sure to call to confirm that they are open because their hours can be inconsistent. We love the view and the ambiance of this place.

Here's the local bar. They have great hamburgers, draft beer and sometimes live music. It's a dark cave with few windows or views so, if you'r tired of the sunshine and just want a good meal at 10 p.m., Carlee's is the place for that.

It has a little bit of everything including an odd selection of gifts and knick knacks. Some things are wildly overpriced (like ice cream) and you'll find better pricing on some basics at the Desert Pantry across the street.

Sightseeing
This state park and hot springs is an hour drive from Borrego. It has three hot-spring feed pools -- one indoor, one outdoor and one just for kids. These are traditional swimming pools. So, if you're looking for a rustic, natural, hot springs experience, this is not for you. Because it's state park the day use fee is around $3 each. They have great showers and changing facilities.

The Friday Farmers' Market is a must.
Our small little farmers' market is a must do every Friday. Open from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. during winter months. Don't miss the hummus guys. We love their fig yogurt and pita chips.

Slot Canyon Hike
One of the best desert hikes is Slot Canyon. You start off walking in the desert and end up squeezing through narrow rock canyons. So fun! There is a loop to take but we always get lost and end up going back through the canyon. The visitors center or Google can tell you how to get there. Enjoy!
