Getting around Gouda

Buy some cheese direct from the farmer somewhere half way. Sign NOZ means not on sunday. Better respect that. Take the bus back to Gouda.

The bike tour is about 60 km and passed nice scenery of the Krimpenerwaard. You can go via Krimpen aan de Lek (Boat crossing) and return via Schoonhoven (Boat crossing). Real sporters return via the river Vlist and take a drink in Haastrecht.

Every 30 minutes a train brings you in 50 minutes to Amsterdam central station. The national railway sells off peak tickets for 17,5 euro per person.

Amazing difference in scenery will be seen if you cross the river IJssel, take the tiendweg in the Krimpernerwaard to Krimpen aan den IJssel, cross the river with algera bridge and follow the river with the Maasboulevard. Return by train or follow the river Rotte back to Gouda.

The national railway company has hiking trails from railway station to another railwaystation. Check the latest ones. We prefer the one from the Hague central station to Voorschoten along the house of our King.

Getting around by bike is the most convienent way. You can rent them on the railwaystation or in town.

There are several navigators for cycling and hiking. The navigator brings you from one point to another. The route to a point is clearly signed with numbers. Easy to plan and mostly it brings you to the best places. Check google for routeplanners fiets or wandelen. Do not mix the routeplanners.,
