Ride sharing through Uber /Lyft is recommended.

While Asheville has bus transit , learning the lines can be cumbersome. Additionally parking downtown can be very difficult or impossible to find. There is little free parking so be prepared to pay by meter or lot. Ride sharing is recommended.

Bring your hiking boots and a jacket - always.

Asheville is a very outdoor oriented town and with the greatest outdoor opportunities in the country, it’s no wonder. Hike or mountain bike the miles of trails that surround the city. Walk the brew trail in South slope. It’s your choice but we don’t stay inside in Asheville. There’s too much to do. Nights in Asheville are pleasant but can be cooler. Bring a jacket. Jacket weather here can last 9 months.

Friday night - nothing to do ? Hit “Drum-Circle” downtown.

Friday night brings the come-heres and the been-heres downtown in Summer for Drum Circle. Follow the commotion and find the fun.

Cycling on the Road in Asheville Can be Tough

Asheville has loads of opportunities for cycling and mountain biking. The Pisgah Forrest and The Blue Ridge Parkway offer miles of 2- wheel opportunity. But Asheville is also a tourist town and many of the primary roads lack bike lanes and can be particularly treacherous. We love to commute by bike but choose your path carefully.

The Blue Ridge Parkway

The Blue Ridge Parkway runs through both Virginia and North Carolina stretching almost to Georgia. It goes directly through Asheville. Take a drive on the parkway at Sunset for fantastic views and hiking. Experience the majesty of The Blue Ridge as the BRP climbs to 5000+ feet. Tip - Hot days also get cooler at altitude.
