We recommend this beautiful destination because it is a lovely, smooth cycling and walking route with no cars, outstanding views over Waterfords amazing blue watered beaches. You can go over bridges and under tunnels decorated with colourful fairy doors. With many great food stops along the way The Waterford Greenway is a 46km trail that is a super place to visit if your by yourself or with a family, or even your dog.

With many great food stops along the way The Waterford Greenway is a 46km trail that is a super place to visit if your by yourself or with a family, or even your dog.
We would definitely recommend this lake because it is a great destination for families and solo hikers because it is a good hike up to the lake and when you get up there you can enjoy the views while unpacking a picnic. You could go for a little swim in the lake while you’re there as well. In the spring to summer months frogspawn can be seen dotted around the sides of the lake. It is also the best example of a Corrie in Europe.

Coumshingaun Lough
We would definitely recommend this lake because it is a great destination for families and solo hikers because it is a good hike up to the lake and when you get up there you can enjoy the views while unpacking a picnic. We recommend this place for families and solos. There are endless food places and beaches to go to in Dunmore East including wibit, a water adventure place where there is many fun bouncy castles and trampolines and better yet floating on water!
We are highly recommending Bunmahon for families and solos because it is a great surf spot and if you don’t know how to surf then you can get lessons and if you do and forgot your surf board you can rent one from Bunmahon surfboard. It is also a historic point in the copper mines which is a great place to visit. There is a nearby area called boat strand where you can jump off piers and go sea swimming.

Tramore is one of the must go places if your going to Waterford,
With long golden beaches, an amusement park and a water park it is a great spot to visit with the family and if your by your own you could try out a few surf lessons.It has lots of great food places as well including Dooleys the chipper and lots of good ice cream places as well and it is only about half an hour or less from the lodge
Favourite restaurant
Our favourite restaurant in Ardmore is “The White Horses” it is a very nice place with great food and friendly staff.
The desert is delicious as well
Ardmore is a great place to visit in Waterford with it’s great views, it’s famous round tower and the long golden beach it’s a great tourist attraction. It is only 34 minutes away from the lodge

Coffee walk
This walk is a beautiful, scenic walk up the Comeragh mountains. There are a couple of different options to make the walk longer, shorter or steeper and points where you can turn around. When you get back from the walk you have an option of two different coffee shops. You could go to Crough Coffee or Cooneys yard. You can sit down inside or outside in Cooneys yard after your walk and get a dinner or you could just get a coffee and bun, or takeaway.
This is a lovely route for family’s or if your travelling alone and I would highly recommend it.

The river Mahon provides you with beautiful views and is a great place to go to cool off after a run. Great place to go with kids as well, bring a fairy door to put at the start of the forest to make your mark, there are a lot of fairy doors there. After your walk/run you have a choice of going to two different coffee shops/restaurants. Crough coffee, which is more of a coffee shop, or Cooneys yard which is both. A lot of tourists don’t know about this place so it is mostly locals that go up, but it has gotten a lot more popular in the last few years with the new coffee shops opening up. Would highly recommend this route for anyone kids or adults or both!
