Food scene

The Winds is one of the nicer restaurants in town with a changing seasonal menu, indoor and outdoor seating, and creative dishes for all (including vegetarians) this is a great place for a nice dinner. Not too fancy, but just fancy enough. Helpful to make reservations during popular times.

This is our favorite casual restaurant in town. Creative foods for all sorts of different tastes, including vegetarians. There is a patio in the back. Sometimes the service can be slow or chaotic, but it has hometown charm, yummy food, and is worth the wait. There are often long waits on the weekend, especially for brunch.

This is the place to get your coffee and pastry. Lots of creative coffee drinks (I love the lavender latte), along with your predictable favorites. It is small so not ideal for indoor dining, but great to get your coffee and pastry to go. They also have good tea and other sweet treats. Get your locally tapped maple syrup here too!

Shops

Tom's Market is actually run by Tom. He has been known to deliver groceries to elderly folks in the community who can't make it to the store. Yes, it is slightly higher priced than Walmart, but it is local and cute like everything in Yellow Springs. You can get your basics here, along with (of course) tofu, almond milk, and pachouli scented soap.

Formerly "Town Drug," the Yellow Springs pharmacy will have the medicine and drug store basics you need if you don't want to drive all the way to Fairborn. A cute little pharmacy with the basics (like the very basics), you can get your Advil, Bandaids, and prescription refills here.

Cute little shop with lots of toys and books to look at and play with. Children have to be accompanied by an adult. Great play to explore/visit with little ones, or to buy a gift. They often give away little gifts to children like a sucker or a yo-yo.

Places to Visit

Beautiful place to go hiking or walking. Often there is a five dollar parking fee which goes to preserving "the Glen" as it is known to locals. There are often events which you can find at https://www.glenhelen.org/.
