Amish
You'll notice Amish homes, farms, and buggies all around the Grace Clark House. The Yoder family has a farm stand on 11b just a mile or two from the house heading east. You can buy baked goods from them. They also sell beautiful quilts. There is an Amish Veggie stand about 10 miles west on 11b as your driving toward Potsdam. They sell baskets too.
Very quiet, a safe community just North of the ADK blue line, borders park forests and wild areas and farm territory. Buy your food in Potsdam or at the local Adirondack Growers, farmers market. Plan day trips from the house to Ottawa (once the border reopens), the and high peaks region.
