Spend a morning or afternoon in the woods on the trails at McDowell Creek Falls. Its heavily wooded and in the shade. It can get muddy if its been pouring. The stairs will work your legs. The water is lovely.

https://linnparks.com/parks/sunnyside/ This is a great spot to put your kayak or paddle board in. Put in at the boat ramp and head east away from the reservoir to avoid the boats. There is a swimming spot that gets crowded and is not the best. Pack a lunch and take advantage of the picnic tables.

Great place to swim. There is a roped off boundary swimming area, grassy areas for picnics or playing frisbee, picnic tables and grilling area. Lots of open area to catch the sunshine.

Linn County has the very best parks. Check out River Bend. The swimming hole here is the best. This is a tent/trailer campground with a few cabins. To get to the water walk down the path just beyond the large yurt. The water is deep enough for swimming and shallow enough for wading. Bring a float device and soak up the sun. This is quite a few miles to the east of Sweet Home.
