Beaches

Beaches in Split are maybe not fantastic like those on islands (at least for local standards), but nevertheless you can find your favorite spot to relax and be lazy.
Wide bay, couple of bars, great for families, view on Marjan cliffs. There's also a nudist section and a beach for dogs. Approachable by car or bus (No 12 form Riva - Sv. Frane station)

The only sandy beach in Split. Great for kids. Well known place where you can play picigin, famous local game with a ball. Sometimes very crowded in the afternoon, best to go early morning. Going east you can reach couple of other small bays and beaches - Ovcice and Firule.

Marjan hill is closed for cars and motorbikes (except employees) so only way to approach this beach and other northern Marjan bays is by foot or by bus (No 12 form Riva - Sv. Frane station). There's also a sightseeing train (nice for kids) going from Sv. Frane church on Riva to Marjan. Check for schedule. On Bene beach you have restaurant, bars and tennis courts. Northern side of Marjan is big enough to find your (more or less) private spot, without the noise of music or cars.

If you're not into classic beaches, Jadran could be your spot. It's a pier made of stone with a bar on top of it. You can rent a deck chair, sip a cocktail and enjoy a nice view on Marjan, sea and the islands.

Žnjan is a neighborhood with several connected beaches. There are bars and restaurants, trampolines, bouncy castles and electric scooters for kids. It's vibrant and it can get crowded. NOTE: Entire beach is under construction this year so don’t go there!
