Bears WILL eat you.

If you're hiking or backpacking, please take bear spray with you and make sure you know how to use it! Bear spray (and hiking in groups) is the best way to prevent bear attacks. There are instructional videos on YouTube. We have both black bears and grizzly bears in this area. DO NOT approach them if you see one!

Don't assume you will have GPS/Cell Service.

Be careful when using your phone for directions in Montana/Idaho - cell service is not always available and mountains will block GPS signals. If you do get lost/stranded, STAY WITH YOUR VEHICLE. Do not try to hike out. Search and Rescue uses helicopters and usually finds the vehicle first!
