There's usually sangria or micheladas, there's always sparkling wine and beer and rhubarb lemonade. It's really casual and really fun.

The Park Rangers put on a great stargazing show on Sand Beach. Check their weekly newsletter (you can pick one up at a visitors center) for the schedule and reservations are necessary now. We've seen constellations, shooting stars and even the International Space Station! The Rangers are informative and we always enjoy it. Be sure to bring the beach towels to lay on, as well as a spare blanket to keep you warm!

The views are incredible and the trail is very reasonable for visitors of all ages. Hot tip, you can park at the end of the Schooner Head Trail parking lot to avoid having to walk across Sand Beach to access the trail.

Jordan Stream Path is a beautiful walk along the stream from Jordan Pond towards Seal Harbor. You can take off from the bottom of the stairs behind Jordan Pond House and follow the path to Cobblestone Bridge. Absolutely gorgeous and a great way to spend 60-90 minutes while waiting for your table at Jordan Pond House.

You can take off from the bottom of the stairs behind Jordan Pond House and follow the path to Cobblestone Bridge. Absolutely gorgeous and a great way to spend 60-90 minutes while waiting for your table at Jordan Pond House.

Lake Wood Pond is located on the long and winding Crooked Road, an idyllic swimming hole with quiet charm. Part of Acadia National Park, the pond is open for the summer and is a popular destination for swimmers, hikers and all manner of outdoorsy individuals. Bring a tube and a towel, because this is a perfect spot to laze the day away, swimming in warm waters and surrounded by scenic nature.
The entrance can be found approximately 1 mile into Crooked Road from Route 3. The entrance to Lake Wood Pond itself is a mile-long stretch of road that curves through a forested area of Acadia, ending in a small gravel parking lot with a public restroom. This road is walkable, though portions of it are uneven and can be considered a medium intensity hike.
