Neighborhoods
Longboat Key is an offshore barrier island running roughly 12 miles north to south and enclosing the western boundary of Sarasota Bay in Southwest Florida. The western shoreline consists of a white sand beach on the Gulf of Mexico. On both the north and south ends, Longboat Key is separated from neighboring islands by deep water passes from the Gulf to Sarasota Bay. St. Armands Key and Lido Key lie just south of Longboat Key and West of Sarasota. Lido Key is bordered by Sarasota Bay on the East and by the Gulf of Mexico on the West. St. Armands Key is surrounded by Lido Key on the West and Sarasota Bay on the East. Longboat Key, Lido Key and St. Armands Key are directly connected to each other by bridges.

A car is a good idea since there is very limited public transportation on Longboat Key.

La Playa Condominium
La Playa Condominium is a small complex located in the middle of Longboat Key; there are 21 units and most of them are vacation rentals. La Playa is not a resort or a hotel, there is not maid service or cabana service available. There is on site rental office available M-F 9-4, all repairs and improvements are done by outside vendors, while all maintenance issues are addressed immediately, it may take up to 24 hours to fix it.

Every unit at LaPlaya is fully equipped with linens, towels and beach towels.
The kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pans and utensils.
WE DO NOT PROVIDE ANY SPICES OR COOKING OIL.
WE DO NOT PROVIDE SHAMPOO.
There are two types of coffee makers in each unit - K Cup and drip.
Each unit has internet.
Each unit has a washer and dryer inside, it is free of charge.

Longboat Key is a great place to bike.
We do not provide bikes but a two bike rental places are near by:

We do have beach lounges on the property, they can be taken to the beach but must be returned by the end of the day.
We have 2 gas grills and a outdoor dining area available for the guests.

Airports
The closest airport is in Sarasota ( SRQ) about 20 minutes away from LaPlaya.
A larger airport is in Tampa (TPA) about 60-70 minutes away.
