* A sandwich -ice cream shop is in Forsyth Park behind the Band Shell.
* Local 11 Ten Food & Wine at the south end of Forsyth Park, behind Brighter Day: quite good/make reservations
* Betty Bombers located in the American Legion south end of Forsyth has dynamite Burgers.
* At the corner of Price & Oglethorpe Streets is a shopping strip with 2 eateries TACA and Screamin’ Mimi's pizza.
*Mate' Factor = just around the corner at Hall & Habersham.
The place appears as if it were built centuries ago; the woodwork, walls, and ironwork are all by hand - great coffee and small eats

"To-Go" Drinks in Savannah's Historic District
In Savannah, you may walk around with your cocktail, wine, beer, or soda as long as they are in a plastic cup. Walking about with 'glass' is not allowed. If caught, you could incur a fine. This rule applies to the historic district. When visiting other parts of the city, it is against the law to walk around with "adult beverages."
The rule of thumb is that you are okay anywhere North of Gaston Street (Forsyth Park area to River Steet).

Understanding our 'Southern Language' :-)
Of course, everyone thinks they know a few Southernisms - but let's make sure - you fit in....
1. Y'all or ya'll or = used in both the singular and plural around this town - a group of people or a generality of description
2. Fixin' = No, we are not repairing anything - we are preparing To Do something or Go somewhere
3. Bless your heart - isn't always a blessing...it depends on the tone in which it is spoken ...most often as a couth southerner's way of insulting someone's intelligence.
4. Livin' in high cotton - you have made it now...feelin' particularly successful or wealthy
5. Catawampu
