3 miles round trip summiting at 12k feet with 360 degree views
This hike is highly rewarding considering it is only 1-mile round trip. The climb does start at high elevation so expect to be tired and take your time. It is a tourist favorite because of the immensely rewarding views with such a short hike. This is about 25 minutes from the cabin and still in Idaho Springs.

My favorite breakfast spot in town! They make all their bread in house, and it is less than a mile away. There is a large emphasis on their benedicts and bloody mary's.

This amazing gold mine tour will bring you back to the late 1800s to 1943 when the mine shutdown. The history and tour are quite fascinating, and they even let you mine for gold at the end. Better yet, it is about a mile from the house and affordable.

This national park is home to massive elk herds and a large amount of wildlife in general. The views cannot be beat, and this park is home to Long's Peak, a challenging 14,000-foot mountain. Book a reservation in advance or you may be turned around at the entrance.
