Red Strand Beach
great swimming beach!
This is one of the most beautiful walking beaches in West Cork. It is not a place to swim as the water is quite rough but the beach is very wide and compact and it is a great place to take a stroll. There is a lovely little take out restaurant that serves fresh local seafood, fish and chips, salads and hamburgers. They also have a wonderful breakfast menu with traditional Irish treats certain days of the week.It is an extraordinary place as there’s nothing on the beach but this one little restaurant most people do take out but they have a few tables inside. You can easily picnic on the pick Naples provided or right on the beach. The owners wife is a great baker and there are always delectable cakes and cookies to have with tea and coffee. Coffee is excellent. Their hours change every day so do check their website for opening times.
