You will definitely get into the water with more confidence with some water shoes. And, if you see a horseshoe crab on its back, please flip it over if it is alive! But, not with its fragile tail, use the body to flip it over.

Suntan Lotion, Bug Spray and Layers of Clothes!
Keeping the skin from burning and having a long sleeve shirt or jacket in case it gets chilly inside or outside will help! Also, if visiting in the summer, Bull Frog SPF 50 bug spray, deet and anything with picaridin will help minimize bug bites.

As Mentioned with Check-in Information - Septic System Care
Septic systems require that only a certain amount of water/waste run through it per hour. If it fills too quickly, an alarm will sound and the system will need to be reset and you'll need to wait for it to clear (outside on the mound).
Please utilize the outdoor shower when possible and avoid too much wasted water use inside so the system works for you.

Watch the Tides and Wind Direction
To maximize your enjoyment, please keep in mind that low tides are the best walks on the beach. And, when the wind is coming from the west (marsh side), more insects will be around and some of them bite.

Don't be surprised when the locals wave or want to ask how you are doing! We are a very friendly street.

Dogs and people should stay off the dunes & dogs on leash.
New grass is paid for and planted each year to try and strengthen the dunes so please respect the grasses on PHB. In addition, if your dog does not listen on command, it should be on a leash to avoid any issues with people and other dogs.

Wildlife Protection
Please help protect the wildlife. In addition to helping flip over horseshoe crabs by their body (not the tail) when in season, artificial light can confuse the animals so please keep outside lights off at night.
