Food scene

Market street just 5 mins from Angel Station. During the week stalls sell fruit & veg, plants, household goods etc. There is a great community spirit as many sellers have been operating from Chapel Market for many years. On Sundays it welcomes the lovely Islington Farmers’ Market. There is a great mix of pubs, cafes and restaurants on the street. My recommendations would be: Day & Night pub - great for a bottemless brunch Indian Veg House - cheap and cheerful curry buffet, all homemade and delivious! Alpinos - old school cafe, been longstanding part of the community since the 1950's

Cobbled street filled with vintage, antique and several other quirky and interesting shops. There are also a number of great places to eat, I would recommend Brother Marcus (trendy Greek food) or Kipferl (Austrian cafe).

Sightseeing

This is a pleasant trail along the Regent's Canal from Angel to the Limehouse Basin. There are a number of places for refreshments, cafe’s, and markets along the way as well. Look out for the Book Barge, a floating book shop which often has jazz musicians playing.

A working church and music venue, which also serves as a charity drop-in centre for the homeless in Islington. If you can catch a show here, I would really recommend as it is a unique and amazing venue!

Home of the Arsenal (the best team in London, but I may be biased!) You can visit the museum, do a stadium tour, or visit the Armoury (the club shop).
