My husband loves walleye and a good ribeye steak. Phil's Tara hideaway has both. Traditional Greek plates, plus steak & seafood, served in relaxed environment in a decades-old cabin. Pretty small and can be very busy. I'd call ahead!

This is the best pizza in the area, hands down (take out only)! Hand-tossed pies from homemade dough and fresh ingredients. Has been offering authentic New York Style pizzas from beautiful Main Street in Stillwater for over a decade.

Things to Do & See

Head across the St. Croix river to visit one of our favorite places, Willow River State Park. You'll need a $5 day pass and it's a short hike down a hill (steep climb back up) but visiting the magnificent waterfall is worth the effort 100%!

Downtown Stillwater was built on hills (much like San Francisco) and has five sets of historic steps that you can climb for exercise or the view. - South Hill Stairs - Chestnut Street Stairs - Pioneer Park Stairs - Triangle Park Stairs Each set has about 100 steps in a very steep vertical climb. Wind your way through downtown to find them all (about 3 mile/1 hour walk).

Walking/Biking to Downtown

Walking or biking downtown in the summertime might be your best option for parking. Otherwise there's a free parking like right next to the "Teddy Bear Park" that is our go-to for parking when we visit the downtown area.
